Super Sweetie Sunshine

Welcome to Island Delfino!

Sweetie stared out the window of the large carriage they were using to get to their island vacation. “How did he talk me into this” Sweetie thought, bitter that she had to waste time at a resort than training.

“Oh, Darling you are going to love Delfino!” Rarity gushed to Sweetie’s left as she watched the island pull closer every minute.

Sweetie looked over at Rarity for a moment then plopped her head back on the windowsill “yeah sounds fun” she muttered and stared at the island.

She thought back to the days after she and her friends foiled specters plot and escaped the mansion that tormented her. The fear around every corner, screaming sometimes when it got too dark or chilly and she couldn’t find a flashlight. She still had the panic attacks, but she had been getting better in the last month. She took up training so she would not have to feel like she had to stumble through solving problems. Even got Rainbow to start teaching her how to fight. Sweetie remembered a memory of an early morning run.

Tip-hoofing down the stairs as to not wake everything in the house, Sweetie walked to the design room to use a mirror. Sliding through the room with ease, until she found what she came for. A mirror for foals rarity installed in her creation room. GCD straps went around her back and clasped around her stomach. Getting the first strap on Sweetie heard hoof falls coming from the stairs. Startled and scared that Rarity would find her with the device, she threw it off quickly and stuffed it behind some ponyequins and ran for the breakfast table.

Pilfering the fridge for a muffin and sitting down to eat quickly, Sweetie resigned herself that her morning run would be without the familiar weight of the GCD on her back. As Rarity entered the dining room, Sweetie finish shoving the muffin in her mouth and was making for the door.

“Why do you keep heading out so early, Sweetie?” Rarity asked while taking a seat at the breakfast table.

Sweetie stopped at the door and turned to her sister. “Just some morning runs,” Sweetie insisted “a..after the mansion I think being fit might come in handy.”

Staring silently at her sister for a moment, Rarity got out of her chair and walked over to Sweetie and pulled her into a hug.
“It’s over, you don’t need to deal with it all yourself anymore” Rarity whispered running a hoof along Sweetie’s mane. Sweetie shuddered and pushed Rarity off.

“I'll tone it down, promise,” she promised her sister; feeling bad about the lie she just uttered as she ran out the door.

Sweetie snapped out of the memory when she felt the carriage come down on the runway. Looking outside, she was confused to see why they landed on a small island airstrip away from the island; which she could see in the distance. Hopping out of her chair and seeing Rarity already getting off, she made for the ramp to check out the situation. Putting a hoof over her eyes to not get blinded by the sun, she saw the airstrip and her sister talking to the pilot.

Trotting down the ramp she made her way towards Rarity and the pilot. As she got within hearing distance she could hear the pilot yelling harshly at Rarity.
“There is no way for us to depart again until the runway is clear!” the pilot yelled. Rarity huffed and began walking away, spotting sweetie belle coming towards her.

“Oh, hello Sweetie i’m sorry about the little delay in our vacation,” Rarity said and then sighed “It seems there is some paint thing at the end of the runway so we can’t take off.”
“Oh, can I check it out sis?” sweetie looked up giving her sister puppy dog eyes.

“Just be careful, I know you can handle yourself now, but I don’t like knowing you’re in danger”

“Thanks sis!” Sweetie yelled behind her as she ran towards the end at a speed even Rarity was surprised about.
“That training seems to be paying off” Rarity muttered as she looked herself over “Maybe I should join her when we get back.” She began to walk back to rest till the plane was clear to leave.

Sweetie ran until she saw the bulbous mass of writhing paint. The swirls of color and size were mystifying, staring for a moment, she decided that to get on with her so called vacation she will have to clean it up. She looked around for any guards to see if they had anything for her to help them clean with. Looking around she was surprised to find all the guards standing back and talking among each other looking nervous. Sighing, she searched for a hose or something to at least start cleaning.

Searching around the base of the flight tower, Sweetie was surprised to come across a small backpack-like device leaning up against the tower. Seeing the spray bottle like top she deduced that it was a portable hose, and the glass container underneath was for holding the water. Satisfied she had found a way to start the process of removing the paint, she began strapping it onto her back. Use to hooking up the GCD it was easy to get the pack secured to her.

As she set off to the water’s edge to find out how to fill up the pack, it buzzed out a start-up confirmation. Sweetie use to the GCD talking didn’t notice till she got to the water that it might be abnormal for everything she strapped to her back to start talking.

“Oh, hello Fludd, I need your help getting rid of this paint” sweetie said making her way into the water.

“The F.L.U.D.D can remove all paints, fires, and movable objects... Pull on handles to fill tanks” The Fludd buzzed waiting for a command.

“Ok just pull the handles” Sweetie whispered to herself, grabbing the handles in her telekinesis and pulling. The tank on her back getting heavier as water filled it up. Happy with her new F.L.U.D.D helping her get on with her vacation. Trotting quickly up towards the paint again she saw a mare staring horrified at an stallion seemingly IN the paint as if he was drowning in it.
Trotting over to get a better view the mare saw Sweetie get close.

“Hey you!” The mare yelled “Fix this mess you caused!” standing there huffing the mare went back to making sure the stallion didn’t drown.

“What do you mean i caused this?” Sweetie muttered to herself before getting close enough to start spraying the paint on the stallion.

“Fludd how do I spray with you?” Sweetie asked the pack.

“Handles when pulled, activate spray function”

Sweetie grabbing the handles and tugging felt the water spray out and miss the stallion and paint completely. The water flew and hit the blob in the middle of the thinner paint surrounding it. The blob groaned but settled down after a few moment of shaking.

“So now i just have to learn how to aim” Sweetie groaned at the thought.

Sweetie pulled the handles again but pulled her head down to make the nozzle point at the stallion. The shot of water grazed the stallion, but cleared the paint enough he almost seemed to pop out of the ground. The mare and stallion embraced quickly and ran off.

Finally pointing the nozzle at the large blob in the center she started spraying it continuously as the paint came off in waves. After about twenty seconds of spraying the paint looked to have hardened and then an shape burst out of the top. The shape was a giant plant with a huge open maw. The giant plant roared loudly, keeping its mouth pointed at Sweetie. Dodging left quickly as a blob of paint hit next to where she was standing just a moment ago.

Ghost Instincts kicking in, she analyzed the situation, noting that it kept its mouth open for short periods of time between shots as she dodged. After dodging another spit she shot water towards the mouth hitting it directly. The plant went into a rage throwing its head around and slamming it into the ground.

Remembering a rusty talent she hadn’t used since the Mansion, She pulled up from the dredges of her memory. Feeling Twilight's Cutie Mark, she pulled it forth to use a quick teleport to not get hit. The Plant whipped around to get a mouth full of water. It thrashed and shot Sweetie with a paintball and scored a direct hit. Smacking into her, it felt like somepony hit her side with an rock. The air getting knocked out of her she struggled to climb out of the paint.

“FLUDD do you have a way to help!?” Sweetie yelled looking over to see the plant about to shoot at her again.

“The F.L.U.D.D is equipped with an hover mode function to cross small gaps” the FLUDD buzzed to try and help.

Thinking quickly she called out to fludd “activate hover mode fludd!”

Activating hover mode….

Feeling her pack shift she pulled the handles and cleaned herself off and activated Rainbow Dash’s Cutie Mark to narrowly dodge the next blast as it skirted her coat. She could feel the paint in the tips of the hairs along her back. Sweetie aimed for the mouth and shot a blast of water into the plant.

Shrieking, it fell, slowly dissolving and after a Moment seemed to sink into the ground along with all the paint. Seconds passed and it looked as though the concrete raised back up into an flat runway again. Satisfied that her work was done for now she made her way back towards the carriage.

As she could see her sister again, she was surprised to see guards talking to her. Getting closer she saw a wanted poster they were showing Rarity with Sweetie’s face on it. Sweetie stopped as the guards rushed in her direction, surrounding her in an instant.

“Halt! You are under arrest for the desecration of island Delfino and theft of the Shine Sprite!” the lead guard barked sending two of his ponies to take the F.L.U.D.D off her and hoof cuff her.

“What? I just got here!” Sweetie yelled thrashing as they picked her up and put her on the back of the biggest guard.

“Ya, well tell it to the judge you little thief” the guards making their way back towards their cart

“DON’T WORRY SWEETIE WE’LL GET THIS WORKED OUT” Rarity yelled making her way to her carriage to try and make it to the trial.

Sweetie groaned shaking her head “I don’t think it’ll be that easy sis.” she thought as they threw her into the small cell in the back of their cart and took off for island Delfino.
