Chapter 27: Pranked

"This shouldn't be too hard..." Rainbow Dash said, reaching up the kitchen cabinets, trying to get a water cup. She winced at the slight jab in her now very large ten-and-a-half month stomach.

Soarin stepped inside the room, raising his eyebrows at the scene in front of him.

"What's going on?" He snickered. Rainbow Dash shot him a look.

"Are you making fun of me?" she asked with a deadly glare. Soarin's eyes instantly widened.

"What?! No!" he exclaimed, putting his hooves up in defense.

"Really now? 'Cause it sounded like you were laughing at me," Rainbow Dash said.

"Uh..."

"You wanna go, punk?" Rainbow Dash suddenly asked, dropping to all fours and narrowing her eyes at him. Soarin gulped, but nothing new was happening. Rainbow's mood swings were always unexpected.

"Right, well..."

"I didn't hear an answer to my question," Rainbow Dash snapped. Soarin darted his eyes away from her.

"I'm taking a shower," he said simply, turning to walk away.

"Wait!" Rainbow Dash suddenly called, making him turn back to look at her.

"Yes?" he asked. Dash's face turned into one of embarrassment.

"Could you... maybe, get the cereal for me? It's up there, but I can't fly to get it," she said softly.

Soarin chuckled. He nodded, fluttering up into the air to look for what she wanted. His eyebrows furrowed as he scanned the cupboards.

"Huh... looks like we're out," he said. Rainbow Dash groaned.

"Argh! Why?! I wanted cereal, Soarin! Now I can't have it! Why does this world hate me so muchhhh?!?!" she wailed. Soarin stiffled his laughs, knowing all too well what would happen if his wife heard.

"Well, we can go the store today to pick some up for you," he suggested. Rainbow Dash's eyes instantly lit up with brightness.

"Yay! Thank you Soarie!" she exclaimed, latching onto his front hoof.

"Sweet Celestia, Dash. I know you have mood swings but don't act like a child," he teased playfully. Rainbow Dash narrowed her eyes as he realized what he said wrong.

"Are you calling me a foal?!" she shrieked.

Soarin quickly shook his head. "No! Of course I'm not! I just-"

"I'll make you pay for this. I'll get you back for this!" Rainbow Dash said, storming out of the kitchen.

"Why did I have to come?!" Scootaloo whined, causing Rainbow Dash to shoot her a look.

"You had to come because this a good experience for the family," Dash said, holding her head high.

"Grocery shopping is a good experience for the family?" Scootaloo asked with a raised eyebrow. Rainbow Dash shrugged, going into the various aisles.

Soarin quickly followed after her, making Rainbow Dash smirk behind his back.

She had told him she'd get him back for what he did this morning, and she wasn't kidding.

Lilian and Scootaloo walked in behind the two of them, stopping to browse the different treats in the section.

"Ahhh!" Rainbow Dash suddenly yelped, trying to hold back her fits of laughter. This was her master plan... getting Soarin to think she was going into labor.

Soarin was instantly by her side, holding onto her sides.

"Rainbow Dash?! Dashie?! Are you okay?! Did your water just break?! Oh my sweet Celestia what's going on?!"

"I... think... I... just..." Rainbow Dash mocked fake pain. Lilian and Scootaloo gasped, dropping the items in their hooves and helping Rainbow Dash by picking her up.

"We need to get her to the hospital!" Lilian exclaimed as Scootaloo frantically nodded.

"Yeah!" she agreed.

At this point, Rainbow Dash burst out laughing, causing Soarin and the others to look at her in confusion.

"Uh... why are you laughing?" Lilian asked slowly.

Rainbow Dash just turned to Soarin. "And that was payback for this morning... gotcha!"

Soarin stared blankly as she came up to his side and playfully punched him.

Instead of being angry, he sighed in relief, shooting her a smile since he knew what would happen if he did blow up.

"Right, right..."
