PINKIE'S CUTE CEANERA WELCOME PARTY

by DraconequusMedia12

A Wonderful Surprise

Bright and colorful blinds rustled in the wind from the opened window, and on the sil, a small green alligator standing still as he looked down upon the town. The partially lit sky loomed over Ponyville with hardly any clouds in sight. A few of the various residents were already up and about, going on with their daily lives while also making sure to give a pleasant greeting to their fellow neighbours.

The green reptile stood quietly in the window frame, sticking his tongue out only for the wind to catch and fling it on the top of his scaly head. He slowly blinked once, then a half-minute later he did so again, ever so slowly shifting his gaze from one wonderful view to a different one.

The light in the room was already plentiful, easily enough to be woken up by, but there was still a large hill formed from something underneath the covers of the bed. The little gator jumped down only to land upside down onto the floor, which was littered with confetti and a few deflated balloons.

As the gator was getting up the door creaked open. The outline of two ponies, a blue mare and a yellow stallion could be seen through the hallway door. The mare had a pink upright swirl mane and three cupcakes for her cutie mark; the stallion had an orange messy mane with three carrot cakes upon his flank. As they walked through the door of the bedroom and moved closer to the sleeping pony the stallion muttered to the mare beside him.

“Are you sure you’ve tried everything to wake her up, sugar dumpling?”

“Of course, Honey Bear,” the mare replied. “I tired everything from the alarm clock, the megaphone, and even her party cannon, but she’s still out like a light!”

“Did you try putting a freshly baked cupcake or muffin under her nose?”

“Yes, but none of it worked!” She shouted. “If we can’t wake Pinkie up soon, there won’t be a party!”

Just then, the blanket began to tremble and shuffle, the pair took a few steps back in preparation of what was about to transpire. A pink blur sprang straight up, hitting the ceiling, upon impact the pink meteor ricocheted and bounced towards the couple, forcing them to duck.

The pony hit the wall where the light switch was, causing the lights to turn off. She then bounced into the little alligator, who had been hopelessly bicycling his little legs in the air, sending him into the air and landing on the back of the frazzled mare. Then the pony launched off the floor, into the open closet, and closed it’s doors upon impact.

The stallion turned the lights back on, while the mare started walking towards the closet, concerned if the pink mare was hurt, when she came careening out of the closet. She was wearing all sorts of mismatched clothing and props; a cheese wheel hat on her head, a cane modeled in the image of her one of her best friends, trousers with a patch on the left side, a fake arrow through her neck and a big present surrounding her upper body. She had a pink, messy, curly mane and tail, with a cutie mark of three party balloons.

“Did somepony say party!?” The pink mare shouted after she had calmed down enough to talk.

“Well, yes,” the mare answered, “I tried waking you up deary, but you wouldn’t budge a muscle.”

“Huh, that’s strange, didn’t you try my Super-Duper Air Horn, I gave you last Heart’s Warming Mrs. Cake?”

“Yes Pinkie, but you still weren’t waking up.”

“Did you try saying ‘party’ to her earlier, Honey Bun?” The stallion turned to her.

“That was one of the first things I tried dearie, three times in fact but Pinkie wouldn’t wake up,” the mare responded.

“It’s okay Mr. Cake, if you need help delivering your sweets I’m on the job,” Pinkie began hopping across the room until the calender caught her eye. She bounced right over to it and read the date and time of the day’s events, while Mr and Mrs. Cake looked at each other nervously.

“Let’s see, let’s -oh here it is, at 1 pm today is Sunny Daze’s birthday party!” She said with glee.
“Don’t worry, After I help you deliver your tasty treats I’ll start getting everything ready for the party-”

“Pinkie wait,” Mr. Cake stepped forward. “Before you go we need to tell you...”

“Tell me what?” Turning her head towards the pair.

“Well you see dearie,” Mrs. Cake began. “You were asleep for the entire morning and… well it’s already 12:45pm-.”

Pinkie’s eyes grew as wide as saucers and then she spun herself into a mini tornado, removing all of the articles of clothing and props, strewing them across the floor, and dashed out of the room and straight down stairs.

“No, no, no.” Pinkie repeated as she started to round up all her party decorations, opening cupboards, rounding up all the things she’d would need for the party.

“Sunny Daze and her classmates are expecting me, with cake and party streamers-” Then Pinkie gasped, dropping everything to the floor.

“The cake! I don’t have enough time to bake the cake!” Pinkie shouted frantically.

Pinkie rushed into the kitchen hoping to see if there were any leftover sweets she could round up.

“Okay, maybe there’s still some time to…”

She stopped in her tracks at a marvelous sight, a scrumptious tasty cake already made and fresh from the oven. It was triple decker, chocolate cake with delicious pink and white icing glazed on each layer, with a pink filling in the middle of each piece of cake and four strawberries placed on top.

The aroma flowed through the room as Pinkie took a whiff and went, “Ohhh, that smells goooood...”

Then Pinkie slapped herself out of it saying, “Get it together Pinkie, you can thank them later, right now, you have a party to throw!”

She put the cake into a red wagon and brought it into the living, beginning to pick up all the party supplies that she had dropped on the floor earlier.

Meanwhile upstairs while the Cakes exited Pinkie’s room, Mrs. Cake stated “It’s my fault, If only I had said ‘party’ more, Pinkie could have made the cake in time for the party.”

“Now don’t go beating yourself up, Honey, we had to bring the twins to the doctor for check ups this morning, and when we got back, we didn’t have any time to spend on the orders.”

As the Cakes walked down the stairs they noticed something being wheeled out the door with icing on top and producing a faint aroma.

“Dearie, you don’t think…” turning her head to her husband in astonishment.

“Even she couldn’t bake a cake that huge and decorate it in five minutes,” he stated.

Both of them trotted down the stairs and stopped at the front door. They looked in awe of the great dessert in her party wagon as she bounced happily down the street leaving the Cakes bewildered.

They stood there, eyes fixated on the pink pony until she disappeared out of view, “Maybe we should let Pinkie run things when our anniversary comes up,” Mrs Cake suggested.

“You have no complaints from me,” Mr. Cake respond to her.

“Um,” She bumped Mr. Cake with her side,” I think we should bring that in the house before anypony hurts themselves,” pointing to the vacant red wagon lying in front of the door.

“Of course, sweetie,” he said, chuckling lightly as he went to retrieve it, but not before he noticed the little alligator hanging off of Mrs. Cake’s tail as she walked away.

Pinkie happily trotted back from the amazing party she had thrown for Sunny Daze, she could still remember the wide smile that had grown when Pinkie brought that cake out, and the big thank you she received from the little filly.

As Pinkie arrived back at Sugarcube Corner, she started to think. Who had made that delicious cake?. At first she’d thought it was Mr. and Mrs. Cake who had baked it. But a few minutes after she wrapped up the party they approached her, asking if she could ‘hold down the fort’ so to speak, while they went out for their anniversary, because of how fast they had seen her bake that cake
Pinkie had been and was still confused, she thought they had made it, but as it turns out they were very busy delivering ponies orders and had taken the twins for their check up at 11:45am. As Pinkie walked inside she saw three fillies waiting around a table on the left side of the establishment.

The yellow earth pony had a big pink bow in her tidy red mane and spoke in a southern accent, she was talking to the white unicorn and orange pegasus sitting at the table across from her. The unicorn had a light purple and pink mane that swirled at the end of her mane and tail, while the pegasus had a short dark purple mane that’s been styled upright.

Those three fillies before her were the “Cutie Mark Crusaders.” Each of them had a shield for a Cutie Mark and inside each Cutie Mark, there was a unique symbol within. An apple for the earth pony, a musical note for the Unicorn and a pegasus wing inside the pegasus’s shield mark. They are a group of friends dedicated to helping ponies get their cutie mark and/or find their purpose in life.

“Ugh, how much longer do we have to wait, Applebloom?” the pegasus sighed.

“As long as it takes Scootaloo,” Applebloom replied. “She has to come back sooner or later.”

“After all that running around we had to do today, I can wait a little while longer,” The unicorn said with an exhausted tone.

“Seriously Sweetie Belle,” Scootaloo said raising an eyebrow. “We can’t expect Gabby to wait forever. Why don’t the two of us split up and look for Pinkie Pie, while the other waits for her to come back,” she proposed.

“We don’t have to Scoots, cause she’s already here.” Applebloom pointed out, as she got up from her chair.

“Pinkie! You’re back!” Scootaloo shouted as the three of them trotted up to her.

“And not a moment too soon,” Sweetie Belle chimed in.

“Hey girls, what’d you need from me?” Pinkie asked them.

“Yeah,” Scootaloo perked up. “We need you to help us throw a cute-ceanera for someone.”

Pinkie’s eyes lit up. “A cute-ceanera party, awesome!” “Who’s it for? Is it somepony I know?” Pinkie asked excitedly with a high energy toned voice, followed by a squeak.

“Woah! Settle down sally,” Applebloom said, raising voice and foreleg forward. “This is a special case,” she grinned.

“Ooooh, a special case!” “Are we throwing it for an upcoming rockstar!?” Pinkie pulled out a guitar from behind her and began playing it on top the table.

“An adventurer pony in the making?!” She exclaimed while wearing a Daring Do costume with a map in her one hoof, while still holding the guitar in the other.

“Oh oh! a botanist!” Suddenly wearing a labcoat and carrying a plant.

“No no, Pinkie we- wait, why would you be excited to throw a cute-ceanera for a botanist?” Sweetie Belle asked.

“ ‘Cause I would finally have the opportunity to invite Fluttershy’s friend, Tree Hugger. Plus,” Pinkie began, ”based on how much Fluttershy talks about her, it sure sounds like she knows an awful lot about plants and it would be the perfect time to get to know her better.”

“Didn’t you have enough time to do that at the grand galloping gala?” Sweetie Belle asked, now confused.

“Yeah, but I spent most of my time hanging out with my sister Maud, and getting down and jiggy with the Smooze; that blob can dance,” after having said that Pinkie began dancing up a storm.

“Oh right, the Smooze.” Applebloom cringed and shivered in place.

“Are you okay?” Sweetie Belle asked in concern.

“Of course, why wouldn’t I be?” Replying with a beady-eyed look.

“Oh come on, enough already!” Scootaloo yelled.

“Look Pinkie, we need your help to throw a cute-ceanera for our new friend Gabby, who so happens to be a griffin.” Scootaloo belted out.

“That’s amazing!” Pinkie shouted. “A griffon is getting a Cute-Ceanera for the first time in history, and I’m throwing it!” She finished, smiling with glee.

“Well,” Sweetie Belle started. “Take a seat cause it’ll take a while to explain it all.”

“Then go ahead girls,” Pinkie bouncing into the seat. “I’m all ears.” flopping them both up and down.

Pinkie sat still listening to the their story of Gabby’s quest to find her life’s purpose, Gabby tried everything; helping Zecora with a stuck stirring stick, wrote out the answer in math class although in reality was the wrong pointed out by Sweetie Belle. Cleaned up an entire beach, helped out AJ and Rarity, fixed up the most unpleasant garden in town and much much more, including baking a triple decker chocolate cake.

When Pinkie heard that one she jumped for joy, hugging the crusaders. Gabby was the one who helped her out this morning and she felt obligated more than ever to pull off the best cute-ceanera
a griffon could ever hope for.

Pinkie directed the three of them to gather all the ponies who Gabby helped and inform them of the impending party, so she can work on getting everything set up in while in town square.
She began to bake right and left, producing cookies, muffins cupcakes and many delicious treats, when she was finished with that, she moved on to the task of setting up all the streamers and ribbons to hang around town hall.

After she was done, Pinkie returned to “Sugarcube Corner” and ravaged through her closet wondering if there was something else she could add the to event.

“What’d you think Gummy, rubber chicken or party favor?”

The green alligator just lied there on the bed, blinking emotionlessly.

“You’re right, none of them compare to the party cannon!” Whipping out a cannon from the closet and firing confetti and ribbons everywhere.

“Oops," Pinkie laughed. “Silly me, I’m wasting all the confetti before I even meet Gabby," She giggled once more.

“Awesome! My very own cute-ceanera!” A loud voice erupted through her window.

“Wowie! And I thought Gilda had a set of lungs on her! Thinking back to the time Gilda shouted at her back in “Griffonstone.”

“Well no time like the present,” picking up the alligator and hugging him tightly.

She put him back down on the bed, trotting happily out of the room saying “Wish me luck Gummy!”

Pinkie trotted towards the center of town in anticipation of meeting Gabby. The way the crusaders talked about her she must be one swell griffon. The more she trotted towards center of town, the more and more excited the party pony grew.

Throwing Gabby a party of a lifetime was the best gift Pinkie could ever give, especially
after all the folks she helped around “Ponyville.” Pinkie really admired that kind of aspect, helping others out of the goodness of their heart.

As the CMC came into her view Pinkie could see a blue coated catlike body and eagle featured head and arms.

“That must be her,” Pinkie happily said to herself.

As Pinkie began to trot faster, Scootaloo notice the creaking of a famlier wagon getting ever closer to them.

“Oh boy,” Scootaloo turning her head. Is that Pinkie’s party wagon I see?

“It sure as sam is,” Applebloom said with a worried look.

“Oh boy really!?” Sweetie Belle shrieked.

As her friends looked at her she said, “What? That custard is delicious!’ Smacking her lips.

“Don’t you remember what I told you last year Sweetie Belle, weren’t my parents ever peeved.”

“That’s nothin Scoot’s. One time after the party wagon went off, custard back splashed onto my tail, for the rest of the day them bees were after me like flies to manure.

“Oh right, you’re allergies,” Sweetie Belle recalled. “I almost forgot about that.”

Party wagon!? What’s that! Gabby shouted excitingly, flapping her mighty wings, lifting her off the ground.

Gabby is a teenage griffon who had a mix of dark blues and light greys on her fur with a white patch underneath the chin area. Some of her back feathers on her head were tied and white small triangular markings evenly placed on her face. She wore a mail bag on her back with a wooden symbol of a shield with a trophy in the background. It signified to many that she was a member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders.

“Well you see…” Scootaloo started.

“It’s a wagon Pinkie brings out whenever she meets somepony new in town,” Sweetie Belle butted in. “She does this high energy dance with multiple instruments until finally, well we’ll let you experience the rest yourself.” Sweetie Belle smiled.

“Boy, oh boy, that sure sounds fun!” The griffon praised.

“Yeah until the ending,” Applebloom added, looking all around her for cover.

“Pinkie came to a roaring stop as she arrived right in front of them, breathing heavy and panting.”

“Hey.. there…” she managed to get out while catching her breath. Pinkie searched her wagon for a beverage until she found an apple juice. Her wagon had a wild color scheme, ranging from blue, pink and yellows. It had pipes on the back and a door to an oven in the middle. After scafing down the drink, she wiped her mouth and began her introduction again.

“Hey their Gabby!” Pinkie shouted raising her hoof to shake her claw. “ My name’s Pinkie and I’ve heard so much about you-,” Gabby grabbed her hoof and shook her up and down very fast.

“It’s so nice to meet Pinkie Pie, these three did so much for me and thank you for organizing my cute-ceanera, it’s been a blast!” Gabby soon stopped shaking Pinkie’s hoof soon after.

“-that I just had to bring something special and to show you my Pinkie welcome!” Pinkie yelled. After she belted it out she realized Gabby had ceased shaking her.

To welcome you to Ponyville, I Pinkie Pie would like to give you something, walking towards her party wagon and started up the music player.

“Oh dear apples, Applebloom quickly scanned the area and found a nearby table to take cover under.

As the music begun to play Pinkie bounced and jumped all over the place singing;

“Welcome, welcome, welcome a fine welcome to you!”

Then Pinkie whipped out a kazoo and blew it near Gabby, lighting up her face with joy.

“Welcome, welcome, welcome I say how do you do!?”

Then Pinkie began playing marching band drums, hopping happily to the beat.

“Welcome, welcome, welcome, I say hip hip hooray!"

She then ran up to her party wagon and opened the oven compartment.

“Room for one more?” Scootaloo asked.

“Pull up a chair,” Applebloom joked while her friend crept under.

“Welcome, welcome, welcome to Ponyville today!!!” Pinkie finished up.

Sweetie levitated a bowl right in front her expecting the custard to fly out, but when Pinkie opened the oven she brought out a cake with white frosted icing with cherries on top. Applebloom let out a sigh of relief, while Scootaloo got up from beneath the table.

“Oh goodie, vanilla’s my favorite!” Gabby said happily, picking up a fork and plate off a nearby table.

Sweetie laid down her bowl on the ground, sad from the lack of tasty goodness while Scootaloo patted her hoof on her shoulder. Applebloom was just relieved that the party wagon didn’t go off like usual. They each took a piece and began to eat, slowly but surely Sweetie's saddened expression started to fade away with each bite.

“I had to bake it without knowing your favorite flavour on such short notice and since most ponies like vanilla, I figured there was a chance you would too,” Pinkie explained while Gabby ate.

She took another bite just humming in delight from the tasty dessert, licking her lips in satisfaction.

“Um hmm, you figured right who doesn’t like vanilla?”

“I know right!” Pinkie gleamed. I wanted your first party in Ponyville to be a special one, after all you helped everypony so much!”

“Say, Sweetie Belle started. “Is this is a new party wagon?”

“Indeed it is,” Pinkie replied. “The old was too old and it started falling apart so I had to build up a new one from scratch,” as she said it a board from underneath the wagon fell off. “It’s going slowly, but surely,” giving a light hearted chuckle.

“Tell you what Sweetie Belle, I’ll whip you up a batch of custard for you tomorrow, how’s that sound?”

“Sounds good to me,” Sweetie Belle’s face lit up.

“Gabby took a look at the wagon intensely, scanning it top to bottom. She glided her claw on the surface of the wagon with a worried expression.”

“The surface area of the wagon is slightly off, the wheels aren’t touching the ground evenly, and the bottom planks underneath the oven area aren’t secured and nailed in properly.”

“Yeah it’s a work in progress, she softly spoke.

“Say Pinkie, do you mind if I fix up your party wagon for you?” Gabby asked.

“Would you!” Pinkie’s ears stood up.

“Sure!” She dashed into the hardware store as fast as lightning and came right back out with many tools. It’ll probably take the rest of the day, but I’m up to the task!” Sorting all she bought into a toolbox.

“That’s great I’l-, wait!” Pinkie ran up to her.

“You can’t, I threw this party just for you! I can’t ask you to leave it to help me!” Pinkie protested.

“Why not, after all you’re the reason I’m here to begin with.” Gabby said picking her up and began hugging tightly.

“If it wasn’t for you and Rainbow Dash helping Gilda, I would have never even known that other creatures actually cared about each other. She continued but not before putting Pinkie back down. “I flew all the way over to Ponyville the first chance I got and the rest is history! I trust that the crusaders already told you about me didn’t they?” she asked chipperly.

“They were right about you Gabby, Pinkie bounced all over. You’re not just helpful, your selfless and I find that super duper riffic!” The Pink pony prised.

“So that means you wanna be my friend? Gabby asked her.

“Absolutely, but,” putting her hoof on the griffon’s shoulder. As far as I’m concerned, we are already are.” Pinkie finished, giving her new friend a big hug.

“That’s awesome, if you’re okay with it, let’s get that wagon up to safety standards,” Picking up the tool box.

“Absol tootly lootly, but Pinkie promise me one thing” She said.

“Sure thing Pinkie, anything,” anticipating what she was going to say.

“Enjoy more of your party!”Handing her another plate cake. “The party wagon isn’t going anywhere.”

“You’re right about that, Gabby chuckled taking the plate. Thank you for the cute-ceanera Pinkie Pie.”

“Don’t mention it Gabby, I’d do anything for a friend.”
