When Sunset Shimmer woke up that morning, she realized that she was late. That never happened. When she looked at her clock, she nearly freaked out. She jumped out of bed and raced downstairs. When she got downstairs, her caretaker, Sunshine Skies greeted her cheerfully.
"Good morning Sunset! Why are you still in your pajamas?" Sunshine asked
"Oh, whoops, I'll go change. Thanks Auntie!" Sunset said, even though Sunshine wasn't really her aunt.
Sunset ran upstairs to her tiny bedroom. She went into her closet to pick out an outfit, she picked out her Camp Everfree tee-shirt and a pair of jeans. When she got downstairs, she noticed that Sunshine had made her favorite: French toast. She thanked Sunshine and grabbed a piece as she was running out the door. When she got to her car, she remembered something.
"Backpack, right." She said walking inside.
When she got to school, she saw a banner on the door that said: Welcome new exchange students!
"Oh yeah, it's exchange week, or is it two weeks?" Sunset asked.
"I'm pretty sure it's two weeks." She heard her friend, Twilight Sparkle say.
"Oh, hey Twi!" Sunset said.
"Hey Sunset, do you know where you're going for the next two weeks?" Twilight asked.
"Actually, I don't. I believe we get envelopes that tell us where we're going today, then the busses take us there, I think." Sunset explained.
"Okay, can you show me to my locker? I still don't know where it is. If I can't find my locker here, I don't what I'll do at completely different school!" Twilight groaned.
"It's okay, I'll show you, I know the way by heart, after all, it is next to my locker!" Sunset said, smiling.
When the two got to there lockers, they both saw envelopes with there names on them. They decided to open them at the same time.
"What'd you get Twilight?" Sunset asked.
"Pine Lake High, the farthest school from here. What did you get?" Twilight asked.
"I'm stayin' here I guess. Looks like I'm going to be a student guide." Sunset answered.
"Oh, well, I'll miss you." Twilight said.
"I'll miss you too." Sunset said.
"Well, we should go to the gym for rules, exchange students and student guides." Twilight said, adjusting her glasses.
"Yeah, good idea, wouldn't want you to miss your bus!" Sunset said cheerfully.
"Well, let's go then!" Twilight said, nearly running to the gym.
"Good morning students of CHS! I hope your all excited for the next two weeks!" Principal Celsestia said in a cheerful voice.
The whole gym had a mixed reaction to the whole situation, some kids cheered, others groaned.
"Alright students, I will give out buss assignments, once you get yours you will head out to the school courtyard and wait for your bus, it may take a while for some busses to get here, so you can wait with your friends. Also, for the next two weeks you will still come here, but to catch your bus, does every body get that?" Celestia asked.
The whole gym nodded.
"Good, student guides, after the busses leave, we will have an assembly about that. Okay students, here are the buss assignments!" Celestia said.
As Celestia listed the buss assignments, Twilight and Sunset went to go find their friends to find out what schools they were going to. They found them at the bleachers with bored looks on their faces.
"Hey guys, what schools are you going too?" Sunset asked.
"I'm going to Cloudsdale High, even though it's in Canterlot City." Rainbow Dash said.
"I have Harmony Lake." Fluttershy said.
"I get to go to Hearst High!" Pinkie Pie said excitedly.
"Ah have my old high school, Orange Field." Applejack said.
"Oooh, you darlings are so lucky, I have to stay here and be a student guide." Rarity said.
"Don't worry Rarity, I have to stay here too." Sunset said.
"Attention students, the busses are here, so you can head on out, student, guides, you stay here." Vice Principal Luna announced.
"Bye guys, have fun! Meet us a Sugar Cube Corner after school, okay darlings?" Rarity said while waving her handkerchief.
"Bye!" Everybody said in unison.
When Twilight saw her bus, she noticed someone very familiar driving the bus.
"Shining Armor?" Twilight asked, surprised.
"Oh, hey Twily, long time no see, eh?" Shining asked.
"Hey Shining, how did you go from Crystal Prep P.E. teacher, to Pine Lake bus driver?" Twilight asked.
"Cadence and I transferred, just like you! Cadence and I couldn't handle Principal Cinch, so we transferred to Pine Lake, we couldn't get our old jobs, so we just took the only available jobs!" Shining Armor said.
"Okay, so you're gonna be my bus driver for the next two weeks?" Twilight asked.
"Yup! Now get in little sis!" Shining Armor said.
When Twilight got on the bus, she noticed only one other person on there. She had pale pink skin and purple hair done up in a high ponytail with turquoise streaks in it.
"Hi! What's your name?" Twilight asked.
She sighed and looked up at her with a slightly annoyed look on her face.
"My name is Starlight Glimmer. Now leave me alone!" Starlight said angrily.
"Okay, I'll leave you alone." Twilight said, feeling slightly frightened.
She took a seat in the very back and waited for her brother to start the bus.
"This is going to be a long two weeks." Twilight muttered as the bus started moving.
About halfway to the Pine Lake, Twilight started to notice certain landmarks from the bus trip to Camp Everfree.
"Hey, Shining?"
"Yes Twily?'
"Isn't this the route to Camp Everfree?" Twilight asked.
"Yes I believe it is." He answered.
"Interesting, maybe I can go see Timber sometime." Twilight thought out loud.
"Who's Timber?" Shining asked.
"Nobody!" Twilight said.
"Okay..." Shining asked.
When the bus finally arrived to Pine Lake, Twilight was happy that she didn't have deal with the boring, silent bus. She quickly grabbed her backpack and ran off the bus a little to quickly. She slipped off the last step on the bus, she braced for impact, but instead, felt something warm catch her. She looked up to see a very familiar face staring down at her.
"Timber?!" Twilight asked, surprised.
"Twilight?!" Timber asked, surprised as well.
"Wait, you two know each other?" Shining asked.
"No?" They both said, obviously not wanting to feel the wrath of Shining Armor.
"You two definitely know each other." Shining Armor said, giving Timber the death stare.
"Hehe, you can put me down now, Timber." Twilight said while blushing.
"Heh, good idea." Timber said, blushing as well.
"Move it lovebirds!" Starlight said, pushing them out of the way.
Shining told the three students move out of the way and to get to the gym for orientation. Twilight waved as he drove off.
"You know him?" Timber asked.
"Yeah, he's my big brother, actually." Twilight said, still blushing.
"Oh, cool! I think." Timber said, still blushing as well.
"So, are you a student guide?" Twilight asked.
"Yes, actually! Can I be your student guide?" Timber asked.
"Sure, why not?" Twilight said.
"Good. Now, let's go, wouldn't want to keep principal Pine waiting." Timber said, leading Twilight to the school.
Heh, maybe this next two weeks won't be so bad after all! Twilight thought.
