A Game of Homes.

A unicorn affinity.

A unicorn affinity.

Scootaloo led her trembling guest into the empty house. Mum wasn't back and Aunt Sunny was out to work. She led her friend in the living room and asked, if she wanted something to drink. Sweetie Belle nodded and examined curios the room. After Scootaloo returned from the kitchen and balanced two bottle of juice on her back, she led the little unicorn into her own room. There she threw the bottles on the bed and turned over to her guest, who looked around much curios in her room. She squinched her face to a questioning grimace and traversed the room for one time.
“But here is nothing. Where are your cloths, your school staff and your toys?”
The little unicorn sounded confused, or even indignant. Scootaloo tipped with her left fore hoof onto the ground and ran with the other nervously over the bed twice.
“Mum hadn't have a chance to bring it here. But I was ill and...”
Sweetie Belles view glanced over the letters and she read the one on the top. Her lips were moving silently and a smile wandered over her face, as she read Pinkies lines. Scootaloo laid a hoof on her shoulder, pushed the letters together and tried to get her attention again.
“Tell me, why did you call this strange pony, Zeccora and dangerous.
hat kind of odd name is this? And why is she dangerous?”
The smile frowned and her hooves wiped over each one. She pranced around on the spot and take finally the bottle from the bed with one hoof. She opened the sealing with a fast move and drank a sip. She answered at last.
“She has been coming to town to town once per month, knocking against doors, lurking around the shops and digging holes.
Rarity always says, that she is different from us, because she has stripes and a garish mane.”
Scootaloo interrupted her story and approached to her. She looked astonished to her and cocked her head.
“And what is dangerous about her? Can she use magic? Can she curse us?”
She was really snoopy and her words reflected it. Her four hooves scurried around on the ground. Sweetie Belle on the other hoof was afraid and nervous. Again she sipped from the juice and answered hesitantly.
“I don't know. Rarity has forbidden me to follow her, or go outside, when she arrives in Ponyville.”
“But why? Did somepony try to cast her out, or fight against her?”
Scootaloo interrupted her friend again and looked to the Wonderbolt poster. Her voice speeded up and she tautened herself.
“Did Rainbow Dash tried it?”
The little unicorn turned away her head and stroked the ground two times with her right hoof.
“Not, that I know about it. Nopony are willing to risk a fight against her so far.”
Scootaloo smiled and grabbed her saddleback with the teeth.
“Then we do it, Sweetie Belle. We could be the heroes. The heroes were protecting the village from menace and...”
Scootaloo sounded so hyper, as she put on the saddlebacks and she fell back into a tölt through the room. She bounced to the door, but the little unicorn sat scared down on the ground.
“I couldn't believe, you think, we can do this. It's a bad idea. Mum and Dad have always telling me. And Rarity too..”
Scootaloo peeked to her and her eyes glimmered full of joy. She ran to her friend, nudged her and revived her so on her hooves again.
“But just think, how proud they all will be, if we do this. We could be the heroes of the village and..”

The pegasusfilly led her little companion out off her room and to the door, as a hoof pushed it open from the outside. Aunt Sunny stand in the entrance and looked down to the two little ponies.
“I have heard, Zeccora appears in the village.
And I was worrying about you, Scootaloo.
I'm relieved, that you have played inside with your friend.
Are you hungry?”
Scootaloo tried to sally out, but as she saw that the village returned to it usually busting outside, she stayed at the door. The filly squinched up her face and sighed. Sweetie Belle on the other side smiled and nodded quickly. Aunt sunny had decided to make Pizza and was just putting the tray with the celery into the wood stove. In the meantime Scootaloo and Sweetie were setting the table together. Salad bowls, carrot slices and daisies stood in bowls on the table and the fillies have only put the dishes and the glasses on the table to finish their chore.
“Shall we look for Zecora tomorrow? Do you think we could find her?”
The little pegasus sounded still excited and tried everything to persuade Sweetie Belle to join in. But the little unicorn shook her head and pushed a dish into position.
“I'm not allowed to go into the Everfree Forest. It is dangerous and the animals are very savage and Mum had said...”
She interrupted herself and looked to the clock. It was half past twelve and she appeared relived.
“I may show you tomorrow the village instead. And we shall go to Sugarcube Corner and drink a milkshake together,”
Scootaloo jumped on her chair, was stretching her neg and grappled a leaf of salad with her teeth. She put it on the dish and was trying to reach the bowl with the carrot slices. But it stood far away for her. Sweetie sat down too and dragged the salad bowl closer to herself. She picked up a spoon with her lips and was laying a few salad leaves on her dish with it. Sunny Rays entered the living room and sat down too. She pushed the bowl of carrots with wing nearer to Scootaloo and smiled. Her hooves was reaching out for the salad bowl.
“You shall go to school next week, Scootaloo. I have talked with Cheerilee and she is glad to see you again.”
The filly nodded and smiled back, while she started to roll the carrot pieces into the salad leaf and finally took it into her hooves. She bit into the roll and chewed. The lunch passed by nice and easy. Sunny wasn't quite as great as Curryfeather as a cook, but after all good enough, that it tasted good. Sweetie Belle thanked and said goodbye to her after the lunch.

Scootaloo came along with her to her home and realised, that they were almost neighbours. Therefore Sweetie Belle had seen her at this morning. As Sweetie Belle entered the house with Scootaloo, her father sat on a table and was reading the newspaper. He pushed a straw hat back on his head with a blue shine of his magic. He smiled friendly at both fillys.
“Sweetie, I'm glad you're back again. We'd 'eard, Zeccora 'ad made waves again and your muvah was kind of worrying about you.”
Scootaloo stopped and a fast smirk wandered over her face. She bit her lip and looked to Sweetie Belle. She didn't notice it and nodded simply.
“Yes, I had visited Scootaloo here and saved her from Zecora.”
The great unicorn stood up, put the newspaper aside, stepped closer and fondle over her face with his huge hoof.
“You'd done dis fine, Sweetie. I'm pleased to mee' you Scoot-a-lot.”
This voice sounded nothing she had expected from Sweeties father. Scootaloo still suppressed a smirk and swept two times over the ground a hoof, to put herself together to say something.
“I'm...”
She had to suppress a giggle and started again.
“I'm pleased to mee', uhm meet you too.”
Her voice sounded first like the strange pronunciation from Sweeties Belles father, but after she cleared her throat, it sounded rather normally. The older unicorn didn't seem even noticing it and patted on her back. He turned over to his newspaper again and Sweetie led Scootaloo into her room. Upstairs and the second door on the right, they were going and arriving her own room. On the right side from the door stood a huge bed and a few drawings hung in the room. The walls were painted with light lines of colour, who were creating a nice general view with the ceiling and the ornaments on the bed. Scootaloo was astonished and followed Sweetie Belle into her room. The unicorn showed once around with hoof and looked into a giant mirror once.
“This is my room. It is nothing particular and...”
Scootaloo interrupted her.
“It is so cool, Sweetie.”
A small grin wandered over the face of her small companion and she blushed. Her voice pitched higher and even squeaked a little bit.
“Thank you.”
She walked with reddish cheeks to a chest and opened it with a hoof.
“Shall we play something?”
Scootaloo smiled and nodded.

The time was running really fast, in a trice it was dark outside and Scootaloo had to go home.
“I pick you up tomorrow, Sweetie. Then we drink our milkshake and you can show me Ponyville, okay?”
The unicorn smiled and waved for her goodbye. Scootaloo galloped home and pushed the door open.
“Mum, I'm home.”
Her call was answered by Aunt Sunny's lower voice.
“Curryfeather hasn't returned yet, Scootaloo. I believe, the packing has needed more time, as we think.”
The little filly followed the voice and found Sunny in the living room. Sh sat for a cup of tea and smiled to Scootaloo as she entered. She folded a letter together, who she had read already.
“Blaze sends you his regards and this.”
Scootaloo couldn't believe it, a new poster from the Wonderbolts. She laughed out loud and grappled it with her mouth. Aunt Sunny laid a hoof on her head and petted her mane gently.
“Come on, I will hang it up for you, Scootaloo.”

This night the little pegasus filly slept very well. Nothing remembered her at her nightmares from the last nights, or at problems before. She wasn't even concerned, that her mother stayed in Cloudsdale. Certainly she would be here tomorrow, right?
Scootaloo stood up really early and started to set silently the table for three ponies. As she was putting the tea on the table, Aunt Sunny appeared yawning in the living room.
“You have woken me, Scootaloo. Why are you making so much noise so early in the morning?
Uh are these waffles?”
Scootaloo look at the bulky things, who were laying baked on a dish. Her tries with the fish slice were poor, but at least the oddments were recognisable as waffles.
“Yeah, I thought I would please Mum with them, when she returned.”
Sunny Rays beamed and fondled her mane. She sat down, took the first fragment and spread it with raspberry jam. She put it completely in her mouth and sighed. She smacked and was starting to speak.
“This will please her surely, Scootaloo. They are delicious.”
Scootaloo blushed under the compliment and took a slice of waffle with her hoof. Her mum didn't show up at the breakfast and she put a few waffles into the oven, so that they stay warm for her. Then she got her helmet, said goodbye to Aunt Sunny and scooted through an awaking Ponyville to Sweetie Belles home.
