Fairy Tail: Magic's Fire

by MLPgirlwriter

Prologue

The whole guild was as lively as ever! Natsu and Gray were jamming their foreheads together and glaring daggers at the other's eyes with a competitive gleam shining in their irises. Happy was offering a large fish to Charla, who was turning away from the blue exceed's offering, while Wendy just watched the display in amusement. Erza was enjoying her chocolate cake with white frosting whole-heartedly. Cana was chugging down an entire barrel of beer like no tomorrow. Levy was entranced by the book she was reading contently. Mira, with her cheerful smile plastered on her face, was busying herself to cleaning the dishes and serving the guild members from behind the bar counter. As for the rest of the guild, they were all in the middle of one of their daily fights, throwing around the furniture while they're at it.
The fighting was so intense, that when Lucy walked into the guild, she was just barely able to dodge the flying table that came straight at her head! The celestial mage gave a shout of surprise and shock as she moved out of the way of the object, which had slammed into one of the double doors of the entrance and hit the ground with a loud thud! Rushing over towards the bar before anything else could nearly kill her, Lucy took the spot next to Erza, who hadn't taken notice of her friend's presence due to the cake she was still eating, and slumped into her seat, a tired expression clear on her features. Noticing the blond's demeanor, Mira spoke in a cheery voice, "Good morning, Lucy! Are you alright?"
Said girl sighed before replying to the she-devil's question, "Huh....yeah, I guess. It's just that I was up for hours last night trying to figure out what I should do for my novel and...Ugh! I couldn't come up with one stupid thing!" with that, the celestial wizard began to rant on how she couldn't come up with what the protagonist should do next, finally catching the red-head's attention.
Pausing in her eating, the girl known as Titania, smiled at her distraught friend reassuringly and placed her hand on Lucy's left shoulder and said, "Don't worry, Lucy! When the inspiration comes to you, you will finish that novel! Now, if you would excuse me, I would like to finish my c-" suddenly, white frosting splattered all over Erza, and the entire guild ceased instantly as they stared fearfully at the 'Fairy Queen'. Erza's pupils had shrunk to a fairly small size as she stared down at her now destroyed dessert, which now had a small flame and an ice shard embedded into it's center. Lucy spared a glance at Natsu and Gray, whose faces were completely white as they were petrified to the spot, shaking in terror for what was to come.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, though it was probably only a few agonizing moments, Erza's brown eyes turned from shocked to ice cold, and she stood abruptly from her seat, her red hair igniting flames, shear proof of her fury. Turning towards the rest of the guild, her unforgiving stare landed on Natsu and Gray, who were both still glued to their spot, their faces as white as sheets. With rage in her tone, Erza shouted, "NATSU!!!! GRAY!!!!!" as if on cue, said boys rushed out of the guild with great speed, leaving behind them two trails of dust in their wake, a furious Erza right on their tails, "YOU WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID TO MY CAKE!!!!!!!" she exclaimed. After a few more moments of silence, the guild erupted back into it's previous chaos, tables and chairs being flung around the area once again.
"Sometimes, I wonder how those two manage to survive that woman," Lucy jumped at the voice of Charla, who apparently was able to escape from Happy for a moment. The white exceed stood on the stool with her arms crossed as she turned to Lucy, who rubbed the back of her head awkwardly.
"Haha....yeah, I've always wondered that ever since I've met them...." the blond girl laughed a bit nervously. Charla turned back to the chaos that was still going strong in front of her, wondering how she even became a member of such a rambunctious bunch. Just then, the feline's whole body stiffened and her eyes shrunk to a small size as images appeared in her head:

......Magnolia and Fairy Tail crumbling.......

......A purple unicorn surrounded by purple flames, screaming......

......Magic disappearing.......

......The same unicorn fighting side by side with Natsu, giving off extreme magic power.....

......Lucy crying.......

.....Lucy, Gray, Wendy, Erza, Happy, herself, a blue pegasus with a rainbow mane, a small filly with a red bow, and another pegasus with golden armor laying on the ground, not moving......

.....A man with a mutated face, giving a menacing smile.....

......Blood........

"CHARLA!!!!!!!" the white exceed was abruptly snapped back to reality at the sound of Lucy's voice. Stumbling a bit, but regaining her balance, Charla looked up at the mage, concern evident on her features, "Are you okay? You kind of zoned out there for a second," Lucy explained. For a brief moment, the cat flashed back to her vision of Lucy crying, but quickly dismissed it. The last thing she needed was worrying her friends over something that could probably never happen. Saying she was fine and excusing herself, Charla made her way back to Wendy, the visions lingering in her mind as she went. The exceed could only hope that whatever she saw, never came to pass.

In the land of Equestria............

Twilight Sparkle was sorting through all her books in the library using her levitation, making the work go much quicker and easier. It was Sunday, so it therefore was "Book Organization Day", as Twilight liked to call it. Placing the last book on it's designated shelf, the young unicorn mare gave a satisfied sigh as she stared proudly at her work, "Well, that's the last of them," she said. At the moment, the door to the library swung open to reveal the little dragon, Spike, who had on a black mustache, a white hat with a red feather on it's side, along with a matching white jacket, panted as if he had been running. In his left claw was a rolled up piece of parchment.
Astonished to see her number one assistant back so quickly from heading over to Rarity's boutique, for he declared that he was going to try once again to make the beautiful unicorn interested in him, Twilight walked over the dragon, worry evident on her face, "S-Spike, What's wrong? I thought you were going over to Rarity's?" the Element of Harmony asked.
Still panting slightly, Spike gestured to the scroll and said between breaths, "I.....got....this....letter.....on.....my.....way...over.......thought...you.....would.....want it......immediately........" this caught Twilight's attention instantly and she used her magic to take the scroll out of the dragon's grasp.
"Aw, Spike. It was very sweet of you to rush all the way back here to give me this, but you didn't have to. You could have just waited after meeting up with Rarity," Twilight reassured her little brother. Spike blushed in embarrassment and rubbed the back of his neck.
"Well, I just figured that you'd want to see it, so....yeah," was all he said. Twilight smiled gratefully at the dragon.

"Well, thank's again for thinking of me. That is why you are my number one assistant!" the unicorn smiled.

Spike smiled back at her, "Well, aren't you going to read it?" he asked.

Turning her attention back to the scroll, Twilight opened it and read. Little did she know, that by opening up the scroll, it would be the first step into what was to come.........
