//------------------------------// // Sorrow // Story: A New Destiny // by Pen Dragon //------------------------------// Sorrow How long must I wait? I've waited four thousand years for my time to come, but it never came. When I first arrived I was given the responsibility to look after the realm of The Displaced, and was granted a place as one of The Elder Siblings. And for four thousand years I've been treated as some kind of deity among my fellow displaced. But as time went on they left this world to the next life. Everyone I knew, friends and family.... All gone. It was than I began to despise the world around me and those who saw me as a god, but I always knew that I wasn't a god. I was just a guy who was imprisoned in this realm after opening an email a long time ago. For so long The Elder Siblings had taken refuge within our temples. I sat on my bed alone in my private quarters, avoiding the light of day. The world I lived in was dead to me, and I hated it more than anything I have ever encountered before in my life. I could have stepped down and let someone else take my place, but no one was worthy for such a position. Everyone wanted one of two things in this world... Power or Freedom from this god forsaken place. I personally didn't want either of them, all I wanted was my little sister back. Even with all the power in the world I couldn't save her. I felt tears stream down my face for the first time in four thousand years and it still hurts just thinking about her. I just wished that I could have made a difference on that day. This place only brought back memories that I'd soon rather forget. It was just to painful for me to bare, I felt empty and alone. The Displaced was no longer my home. Knock' Knock' "You may enter." "Lord Suicune, we have completed the teleporter like you asked," A humanoid bird said, bowing. "Thank you Zsoltan, I would like to see it immediately?" I asked. "As you wish my Lord," he replied, leading me out of my quarters to the hallway. Zsoltan was my closest ally, even though he served another member of the high council, Ozai. "My Lord, I must ask you?" "Ask your question Zsoltan," I told him. "Why do you continue to hide from the other Lord's? They have given you magnificent gifts." Zsoltan said. "......" "Your status is at risk my Lord, they will strip you of your rank," "That is where you are wrong Zsoltan, they'll most likely prevent me from leaving this world if they can?" I answered him. "They've been running this world for a very long time and will still run it without me. It's time for things to change for both me and this world. I have nothing left to protect my friend." I explained to him. Everything I have said is true, and from the Zsoltan's expression, he seemed shocked at my words. I don't blame him, he saw me as god and he's always respected me and my fellow elders. "My Lord you can't be serious?! What you're saying is treachery to your fellow Siblings!" He shouted. "Zsoltan, I don't regret anything I say and if you truly see this as treason than you can alert Lord Yasha if you wish, but I am leaving and I don't know if you'll see me again. But I'm counting on you to look after the other Displaced. More will keep falling victim to that email and they'll need someone to look after them," Zsoltan has been serving Ozai and me for two hundred years now and I trust him more than the others. Zsoltan didn't have a response and remained quiet the rest of the way. After traveling through the halls we came across an old door, plated with magic runes that only I could access. With a press of my paw the doors began to open up and we entered, there I saw one of my leading scientists, Exuberant Witness the monitor of The Displaced and the only one I knew who was still alive "Ah, Lord Suicune it has been quite sometime since we last spoke. I take it you're here for the teleporter?" She asked. "Yes I am Exuberant, Zsoltan has told me it's been completed. Is there anything I should know?" I asked, I needed to know everything about it if I was going to leave this awful place. "As a matter of fact yes! You see the teleporter I designed is only a one-way trip. Meaning you couldn't come back even if you wanted to, it was something I've been trying to figure out for sometime now, at least until I discovered that it can do more than transport you to one destination, it could transport you through dimensions, other realities. The possibilities are endless! " she explained to me and I was rather impressed. "Where exactly would I end up?" I asked. "You could end up anywhere as far as I can tell. The computer sets the coordinates on it's own." "Will the trip be safe?" Zsoltan asked. "It is indeed, as long as nothing interferes in anyway," With that said, it was all I needed to know. "Thank you Exuberant, I am ready to depart immediately," I said. "Are you sure my Lord? If you do this, than there's no coming back," she said, warning me as if there would be consequences. It didn't matter to me where I would go or what would happen to this realm. All I wanted was to be alone with no disturbances, I've endured enough lost for several life times. "I'm sure and thank you for your many years of service, Exuberant. When I leave I want you to destroy this machine and all the research and paper work you have on it. This is the final order you'll receive from me, after that you'll be taking orders from Zsoltan from now on," I commanded, both Zsoltan and Exuberant we shocked at my words. "My Lord, please you don't have to do this. I'm not fit to lead anyone," Zsoltan explained, but I could only chuckle in response. "Zsoltan, you are more fit to lead as one of The Elder Siblings than me. My era has ended, but your's is just beginning and I know you'll do great things for these people," I said, bowing my head in respect. "Than....please allow me to do the honors my lord? If this is truly the last time I'll see you, than allow me to destroy the machine as a final order for you," Zsoltan dropped to his knees and pleaded, I could only nod in response, I headed towards the portal. "I'm ready Exuberant, fire it up," "Of course my Lord..... it's been a pleasure serving you," she said, as her tone went down. Even though she was only a robot, I could tell she was going to miss me. Zsoltan pulled out his blade and got into position, as Exuberant began to power the teleporter. "It's been an honor serving you, my Lord," Zsoltan said. Farewell my friends. Even though this was goodbye, I could only smile back at them, as I began to enter through the portal. Before I knew it, I felt nothing but pain. Apparently Exuberant didn't tell me the side affects of traveling through dimensions, every part of my body was in excruciating pain, as well as my mind. It was hard to think. Next thing I know, I black out. After hours of separating the good apples from the bad ones, both Sweetie Belle and Applebloom began heading towards there clubhouse. "So do you mind telling me again why Scootaloo couldn't help us?" Sweetie Belle asked. "Because, her ma was taking her to tah dentist today," Applebloom answered. "Urgh....why did it have to be today? My hooves are killing me," she complained. "Well we still got it done," Applebloom said, trying to cheer up her friend. "Yeah I guess, but right now I just wanna sit down in the club....." Before she could finish, her eyes widened in complete horror. "Sweetie Belle wats wrong?" Sweetie soon grabbed Appleblooms head and turned it the same way she was facing. Their club house was completely destroyed, pieces were scattered all over, and it was devastating to see it in ruins. Tears began to stream down Appleblooms face, while Sweetie Belle just began to look around for anypony that may have caused this. "Who coulda done this?" Applebloom asked as she wiped her tears away. Sweetie Belle didn't know how to answer that, but she had a feeling that whatever did this was big. They both climbed up to whatever remained of there tree house to see if they could find anything interesting. But what they found was something they weren't expecting, laying unconscious in the rubble was a large blue beast with diamond spots and a large hexagonal cerulean crest on it’s head. "I think I found what did this..." Sweetie said as she slowly approached the sleeping beast. "Sweetie get away from there!" Applebloom said, trying not to awaken it. "You don't know what it might do," "I think it's hurt," She said, slightly nudging it on the side of its head. What the two fillies didn't know was that their about to awaken the former deity of The Displaced. It's eyes slowly began to open, trying to figure out it's surroundings, as both fillies froze in place. Where am I? My body ached and from the looks of it, I crashed into a tree house. Before I could take in my surroundings I was met with loud, irritating screams of what appeared to be two colorful little ponies. They must be terrified by my presence, I better approach calmly. "There is no need to fear me little ones, I'm not here to harm you," I said, trying to stand up slowly, without frightening them. "H-how do we know your tellin the truth?" Appleton asked, shaking in place. "I don't harm children, I've always looked after them, where I'm from," I answered. Honestly I adored children for there innocence and kindness, they seem to be the only ones that would calm me. "Well we don't know if we should believe you or not," Sweetie Belle said. "You completely destroyed our club house." "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. If it makes you feel better, I'll rebuild it for you," I offered, both of them turned to each other and began whispering. "Alright we'll trust you, but if you try anythin' funny. Mah sista will buck you into next week." "Very well, but all I ask for is some answers about your world," I asked. "Well....I guess that'll be okay....wait are you from another planet?!" Sweetie asked. I couldn't help but chuckle just a bit. I could tell what was about to happen next. "That means y'all an alien!" She pointed out. "This is so cool, an actual alien!" "Wait...he's an alien." Both of them said in unison as they looked at me scared, but excited at the same time. It was cute to watch. "As I've said before I'm not here to harm you. Still I'm curious, who are you?" I asked. "Well I'm Applebloom, and this here is my friend, Sweetie Belle," she introduced. "Hi!" Sweetie said cheerfully. "Who are you mister?" Applebloom asked. "I'm Suicune, it's a pleasure to meet you two." I answered smiling at the two fillies. Perhaps things won't be so bad.
