I absolutely loved the moral ambiguity in this one. It simply begs the question, "What's the difference between the best thing to do and the right thing to do?" Do you seek safety or justice? And etc, etc...
The simplicity yet complexity of this short fic was some splendid work you did, Stonershy. Cheers!
Doing the right thing thing can be tough, in the wasteland it can be harder. But to care, is something else entirely.
This is making me think of the ABCs of death, and that is a good thing.
Would have been great if what the repair pony fixed was a toaster; it would have completed the joke/reference.
Ah, moral ambiguity at it's finest. One of the most defining traits of the Fallout games I loved.
On one hand, this was in some way good ol' karma catching up to the slaver brothers. But on the other hand, they intended to keep their word of providing safe travels to the family and not falling into the betrayal cliche. If anything, their escortee was the death of them all, all just to clear his conscience for one brief instance.
So now they may have a very vindictive father who will certainly not care if they're protected by the Lightbringer herself. But well, the father finally acted on his heroic fantasy, only problem in there's no taking it back when the spreading news is already in motion.
Regarding "Apathy."
It's nice when somebody chooses the objectively good over the subjectively good.
