Aah you can always trust your friends to help you when it matters. However there is still a bomb so it may be a good idea to run away.

The story that forced this musician to admit that fanfic could be good. And then proceeded to plant an idea for a story in his own brain so he had to write it down. Now he has even less free time and is spending it talking in third person at three something in the morning...
Thanks, Kkat, for forcing my mind open a bit more than it was. Hope your RP is going well.

This is pretty much what got me into reading fanfic as well, and even starting to write it again (it'd been ten years).
Yes, I believe thanks to Kkat are most certainly due.
3113420
I tried fanfic back in the 90's when the internet was so young and swore off of it until last year when I just had to read FO:E. How could one not read something with a concept so ludicrous? Then when I found out it was good, well... dang.
Happy you're writing. Everyday? (He asks as he writes maybe 3 times per week...)
3113425
Not really. I don't usually have the kind of energy needed, or normal energy to brute-force the words out when the creative energy's not flowing. (I have some issues. ) Sometimes I have energy that lasts for hours of nonstop creativity, though, and those spurts of inspiration usually require revision later, but are still awesome!
The lack of energy doesn't stop me from cranking out ideas, though. As a result, I am now hopelessly behind on all of my writing projects.
This chapter was gut-wrenchingly emotional, Kkat. I remember the first time I read it. I nearly burst into tears.
I know my life wouldn't be the same if I hadn't come across this story. Thanks.
And that's the end of volume 4. One more to go
FINALLY GOING TO READ THIS. Curse my terrible memory.
Smart plan.
Very smart plan.
The last Mint-al saved you all.
Footnote:
Taint: the new Phazon!
Re-reading this after reading the latest chapter of Project Horizons kinda gives me a new perspective.
I love the mane 6 segment, it was so awesome to see the girls helping out little pip like they did. I also enjoyed watching the meaning behind the mirror.
Of course, all of this awesome is just the prelude, now we get to the climax! And, admit it, who played the escape music from Super Metroid when the bomb was set.

Just thought I should let you know, since you always embed images from 'static.funpic.hu'... they never work for me, lol. I'd be willing to bet they don't work for more than just me, too.
Awesome!!
3114890
Well that's odd, they always work whenever I check them.
Fallout Video Game Logic
When Maripony is enveloped in the balefire bomb's blast, I cant help but hear Mr. Burke's insane voice up on Tenpenny Tower, in my head:
"What..What transcendent beauty! What purifying Light! Ahem! Please excuse me while I...I, collect myself."
Oh Noes!

Ayep
Its about to get a hell of a lot bumpier
The chapter title and Littlepip's monologue in the beginning made me think of this song. Rather fitting, I must say:
3114256
Indeed. And I expect I will have twice the feels come the next chapter.
3117207
Most of fanfics here not more than 10k words. This chapter exceed them 5x times.
3112835
They are also useful for summoning the stork

There's some website that prevent their images from being embedded on other sites, and only the person embedding it can see it for some reason. I assume because the person embedding it has already viewed it on the original site and has some cookie set for it or something. I know funnyjunk.com does that, too; if you try to embed an image from there, other people will just see a white box that says "Visit funnyjunk.com to see this picture!" or something along those lines.
SPOILERS
Littlepip is going to retrieve the Black Book
Eh, he'll be fine. It's not like being trapped in disabled armor is more claustrophobic underwater than it is on land, and you don't spend two hundred years fused to magic power armor without having to put up with occasional paralysis. I'm sure he's used to it by now.
Can't you let an injured mare practice her hobby in peace?
Because you wish you and your mother had been closer, and are trying to vicariously live this through Xenith?
Ah, unwanted mementos . . .
Understanding is hard, though. It makes it very difficult to hate the things you don't like. Too much understanding can be a considerable strain.
If there's one lesson I picked up from Project Horizons with the intention of applying it indiscriminately (and it's a rare dark story indeed that can get me to enjoy it without having at least one strong nontrivial moral), it's that one.
Fun fact: 2% of a soul is still plenty to make a soul jar not entirely inanimate. The statuettes are just a little bit alive.
AJ certainly can be quite wise at times.
I love this. The answer was hidden in plain sight all along. Littlepip, the little mare who will fight any threat to the innocent as long as she retains the strength to lift a gun. The pony who will never give up, nor take "you aren't enough to help" as an answer. Was there ever any doubt? (yes)
What would the world be like, if this sort of authenticity were more often shown by adults?
Yes. You neglected to blow up the spawn point.
I suppose I can forgive you, though, since it was your first day on the job.
Mission accomplished. They're like little baby Littlepips. The good ponies of the Wasteland are no longer content to merely help when the Light Bringer is in the area. The fire has spread; the ideal has multiplied. The Stable Dweller is at last becoming enough larger than life that it could survive Littlepip's death.
Today is a beautiful day. Not for what it is, but for what it promises.
It is a chance for the Book to corrupt you, every time you cast it. But its effect is not inherently evil. Knowledge is always a good thing, when used wisely.
The seeds of being able to retire.
Trust me, it's not going to be pleasant. But it will be a chance to act on that disgust and anger against the worst of the Wasteland, which is normally not appropriate for a healer. So there's that.
A place too terrible even for Killing Joke.
It's a good line. But it's questionable whether she truly believes it. She's killed alicorns, and plenty of definitions would make them ponies. She killed that slaver in self-defense, on the train.
A truly honest statement that you live up to your legend. A great gift for any hero, and much rarer than weapons or healing potions.
They're broken. Shattered down to the core. When things look terrible, it's easier to become part of the problem. Join the enemy you dare not even try to beat, though that enemy is nothing but an idea. Because then it doesn't have to hurt when bad things happen. Then that just means everything's going according to plan.
Heh.
Yeah, that's not going to happen.
Might I recommend getting a move on?
The Enclave are what some might refer to as "cocky gits." They think they can use her, with no consequences to themselves.
I wonder how long it was between when Littlepip left and when those three heroes learned who they had been working with? I can't remember if they later say anything about what they thought when they found out.
You're offering to sell us a hero?
As a matter of fact, we've got several.
Hm . . . all this time, and now they come again . . . not sure if this is an entirely benevolent act . . . .
Fee fi fo fum, I smell the blood of a bullshitter~
The Pegasi are here to save us! Two hundred hears f%$king late!
It seems that Littlepip has a fanclub...
That's what I'm afraid of...
I liked the part were calamity seduced the children and his nose fell off
In the wasteland, Littlepip sees responsibility to make the world better and save lives.
When I'm in the wasteland, I see freedom to do whatever I want.
I wonder what others see?
Committed to this self-assigned responsibility to levels I can't quite understand, but respect.
I love this girl.
Aaaand enter the Enclave. I hate them so damn much.
And so the Enclave Arc begins! If an insane Enclave computer and insane StableTec computer pop up, I think we would have a villain from nearly every Fallout game.... And the Crusader doesn't count as the insane StableTec computer unless it gets a robot army!
4150214 The amount of context this comment lacks is equal to the amount of context LittlePip has given in her story to us this far.
4224639 I see a world in hurt, with problems that need to be fixed before it can get back on track. It helps that everyplace I go to has a literal list of problems that I can fix that makes things perfect forever so I never have to return. There is nothing to do but makes things better. Really. It's all about improving everything while randomly wandering. Yourself (Max stats!), companions (Max everything!) and quests (Fix everything!). Because once you make yourself the strongest, your companions strong as possible, every place worthy to be saved strong as possible, you win. It just so happens this is in the same moment you have found the truth of every terminal, picked every lock and searched all locations of information, history and unique loot.
Or maybe I'm a perfectionist. Or I'm like you, I see the freedom to do what I want and I chose to do everything, bias to good. It's all context.
Not if you have 100 speech.
....AND Old World Blues references. Did Kkat play it around the time he wrote this? If only he could have started writing after it was released, I could do with Fallout Equestia with a Mad 50s Sci-Fi vibe.
You also have to sit through a 30 min talk about hand penis.
You have been hanging out with Pinkie Pie too long LittlePip. That fourth wall is coming very close to tipping over.
Yes, OWB references from now on. Maybe we might even have some good ones! (jk)
Well that must have put a Mega-ton off many people's minds.
Wonderful, just absolutely wonderful. Turns out your foreshadowing in the previous chapter of another war breaking out would be the Enclave vs everything else. I swear though, ponies who live their entire lives in the wasteland just to hear the voice of the Enclave to say that they arrived to save them? Nopony will believe that bull shit.
If what I've seen in the short time is true about the Enclave, then they are beyond fucked. The Enclave I mean because they already have dissection amongst their ranks, they so far believe that the ponies down in the wasteland would be beyond hope of saving themselves to mostly accept with little hostility and the only advantage they have are energy weapons with armor. Flying isn't an advantage in this case, why? Because they have nothing to hide behind should say, twenty ponies aim their guns at one and fire at the same time. It might be armour but it sure has it's limits when so far compared from memories from the orbs and such.
I suddenly hope that the populace will start fighting back up there when they figure out what is truly happening. Just maybe. That reminds me, a griffon before had an AA gun right? Attached to a battle harness too back at Shattered Ridge was it? Or was it Shattered Hoof? Either way, flaks are deadly in this situation, even more so than their energy weapons which seem to only go in a straight line and have no area of effect. Flaks do. Ax rap ton in comparison. Now to stop with the obvious bashing of the bigots and onto the next chapter.
I swear though, Luna butt shoving the moon up their arse they get what they deserve.
4268070 I'm not sure when she began to write it but I know that it's was between season 1 and 2 and finished the story on christmas.
Respawning raiders the one thing that they are good at is letting me farm xp.
When Littlepip had her nightmare and Xephyr (maybe one of her friends) had walked in to care for her. I think they might have heard Littlepip talking in her sleep.
I don't know how I would have reacted hearing this...
Am I the only one just cringing at the Enclave guy talking politics while nuke is about to go off? I mean I know he didn't know but he should have at least been a little suspicious that the only two people in the area were flipping out.
>>ChaosDX1 I see a playground for me to roam. Anyone who stands between me and shiny things gets killed. People like legionaries and raiders are obstacles to good people who make things for me to steal. So I kill the robbers so there's more for me to steal. Also sometimes I kill because I'm bored. Razing entire towns can be really fun. :)
At first, I thought the house you were talking about was Zecora's not Fluttershy
NO! Nonononononono! No! No, no, no, NO!
5101159 RUN FOR YOUR FLANKS AND IF YOU ARE A DRAGON LIKE ME SAVE A FEW PONIES!!!!!!!!!!!

Fffffffudge muffins. We're all dead...
Fucking enclave cutting off DJ pon3
Man, I love Steelhooves. Im going to make a character with 10 PER and 100 EXP as tribute.
And thus comes the chapter with the tactical feels. And huge explosions. I've been waiting for such a long time for the enclave to start throwing wrenches into plans, so it's interesting to see them here now. And I can't help but feel a little melancholy for Trixie. I wanted things to get better for her. Fate... just dealt her a cruel hand.

Kaboom
I swear that can be like a new nickname.
What did the mane 6 mean by "look behind you", someone explain please, because im too stupid
6168216 It will be explained.
Harbinger = Colonel Autumn from Fallout 3. No doubt about it.
