I salute you with more EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEs!
(Heh, never gets old)
Looks like Fast is rubbing off on the Shroud just as much as it is rubbing off on him.
Another very well done chapter! Thank you!
An excellent chapter. Great Murky reference. Looking forward to the next chapter already.
I do find it kind of sad that he didn't find a copy of his shotgun in the boat

That's quite funny. I have to admit though I like what they did in the recent movie with describing what the drink does
Congratulations on writing the story that's finally got me to create an account and hit the like button! I loved FOE and PH (tho MN7 nearly broke me) and i have to say i'm enjoying this just as much, if not more, than those.
can't believe that after a month of reading i have to wait for updates now! keep up the amazing work mate.
Oooh boy. So. I've finished all of my backlog. And ooh boy what a wild ride. So. Now. My theory the other day... is only partially correct. But heh. Still...
Poor Fast. At least, slowly, surely and in the middle of lot of gratuitous murder sprees... Now the Shroud is really trying to be, with Fast, the hero he was before.
Also : Fast, you're doing a fuck up. You're doing a BIG fuck up. NEVER Trust Klein ! Mobius, quick, distract Fast from the asshole ! If there's a time to appear, it's now BEFORE Fast fuck up his already shaky footing !
And who bet that there was a convenient Railroad spying him to fuck up his Railroad Karma ? Because in the Wastes, when it rains, IT POURS.
Okay, i'm pessimistic.
Need a positive distratio-- BIRD!
(Of all the Shroud Shenanigans, his culling of the Birds is just stupidly funny. Also, it's pretty funny that the "birds aren't real" conspiracy is true in the Commonwealth... XD )
Fast shouldn't beat himself up too much about that slaver leader. After all, being a Synth who was able to break free from the Institute only to turn to enslaving others deserves the kind of poetic justice only the Shroud can give!
On another note, loved the MN7 reference. Though IMO Red Eye was actually pretty decent when compared to that wicked Master Shackles... I think was his name.
Hey Crazyone!
Again, an awesome chapter. Libertalia and the Synth Courser even. Cool. As for the Bird thing, it is amusing as well as a neat 'easter egg' in the story. Way to go, taking that reference and repackaging it into your tale. I love it when an author does something like that, and even better when they do it so well.
Keep on writing! This tale MUST be told to completion! In fact, make sure of it, because I can't be the only person out here that would gladly fork over my hard earned bits to buy a copy from Amazon one day semi-soon. I already own copies of the original FO:e, and FO:E Project Horizons. I would just LOVE to add this and Fog Harbor to the ever-growing library in my Kindle.

I'm just saying that a 25mm 'grenade' isn't all that large. Heck, it's only 0.984 inches wide! Less than the size of most people's thumbs! Even if you 'round up' to a full inch, it's still far too small of a space to pack enough explosives, even Compound Five (the replacement for the old C-4 used in Vietnam) isn't enough to make it do what the author says. And being a Former Marine Corps Enlisted Weapons Instructor, I do have some expertise in these matters.
I know, I know, going back and editing is a bitch, but a good author will do so if needed. Not on this site perhaps, but when the story reaches it's end, and a 'final draft' is contemplated, then such things can be 'retconned' into place. It just 'erks' me to see it is all. Sort of like someone who's an expert on automobiles seeing some writer having a 50cc engine doing things a Harley can't do.

After a very detailed education on the subject and realizing my faux pas thanks to Rymeer, I've settled for trying not to repeat the mistake in current chapters, along with editing when I'm in the mood to do so and on a chapter anyway, so eventually it should get cleaned up.

Personally i've yet to see it as much of an issue (am currently halfway through chapter 94), since Val seems to be consistently described as using those rounds in excessively generous quantities in any given engagement; after all: 'Quantity has a quality all its own.'
25mm grenade rounds may be puny compared to 40mm grenade rounds, but i still wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of such a frag storm.
Well s***, i've run out of chapters to read...
Now the wait begins, though perhaps now i can get some decent sleep again now that this story isn't constantly keeping me awake from binge reading. This story has steadily rocketed up my list of favourites, and may actually be a contender for the top spot; the Institute and the Think Tank are truly a match made in the deepest pits of Hell, and a love it!
Seeing the absolute mess of wasted potential that was Fallout 4's story be expertly reshaped, significantly improved, and melded with one of my all time favourite video game DLCs makes this story appeal to me on a damn near meta level. So far this story has made me laugh, weep, shake with anger, and woop for joy; sometimes all of the above in one chapter even. It certainly doesn't hurt that this story hits on subjects near and dear to my heart, and does so with far greater respect and competence than Bethesda ever managed to do; particularly that of synthetic life, and the eternally unresolved philosophical matter of how we each define sapience and the soul.
Please keep up the excellent writing Crazyperson, i eagerly await further chapters of both this story, and Fog Harbor.

Unfortunately, i am fairly certain Mobius has yet to make a major appearance precisely because the Church of Balefire is currently blockading him in the Glowing Sea. No doubt he had to sever any teleport pads in his installations from the main network to avoid them being used to send an invasion force straight into his labs; and trying to run anything bigger than a Cybreezee past an army of Mutants coordinated by one or more fanatical Green Alicorns would be a tall order to pull off.
Until that blockade is broken up, likely by revealing Dala's deception to Evergreen; Mobius remains effectively penned in with few options to send direct assistance. Though if my suspicions are correct, this is very much a situation where Patriot could do a world of good by taking the risk and intervening; he did promise to give Fast a proper explanation the next time they talk.

On mulling over the situation some more, i am pretty sure i see where Crazy is likely heading with this; though what route he takes to get there remains to be seen. Fallout 4 lacked any options for a diplomatic ending, but Old World Blues did not. Getting the Think Tank to stand down peacefully requires some legwork, careful maneuvering, and specific dialogue choices (or just copious amounts of over the top brazen lying to scare the bejeezuz out of them), but by swaying a majority of the other doctors to your side, you can get Klein to stand down.
Certainly, Fast would be well advised to proceed with great caution, especially in regards to who he even lets near Glitter; and i should hope that he lays down as an absolute condition that he be personally involved with any attempted procedure to try and bring her out of that coma.
But aside from that, if he does take up Klein's offer to become the new Director of Public Relations (presumably entitling him to seize and re-purpose Vega's remaining assets, as he sees fit; and to commission and staff his own facility if he so chooses), then that gets his hoof in the door to be able to meet with the other Directors as a colleague of equal standing, and that will give him an opening to get to actually know them, and perhaps sway them to his side.
He's already halfway there with Dala, and that useful bit of information he happened upon back at the Parsnips Asylum gives him some serious potential leverage with the whole of the Bio-sciences Division.
Heck, with some careful forethought and general sneakiness, Fast could actively exploit the exotic nature of the X1 serum to obfuscate its true source and origins, allowing Dala to achieve repeatable success with her Male Alicorn project, while letting him leverage some degree of control over the project by controlling the Institute's access to the Serum.
Honestly the biggest hurdle will likely be in Fast convincing the Shroud to go along with all of this, though this latest chapter does suggest the Shroud is starting to regain some semblance of actual sanity; which is a promising development to be sure...
Come to think of it though, that may have something to do with the Shroud coming to see Glitter as his daughter too, so perhaps the possibility of getting her back has given both of them a reason to claw their way out of crazyland, and a compelling reason for the Shroud to stay his blade and let Fast do most of the talking, for now at least.
I still have a few chapter to catch up and, after a diversion with Long Haul the past couple of months, had to reread from chapter 100 to get back into the story. You pick up a lot more the second time around.
Awesome entertaining story. Thank you.
An MN7 reference. Awesome. A tribute to one who dared to dream.
This may sound silly, but I found this around the 10th chapter being released. This story is a great way to spend a day or two. Thank you.
Whatever you want to tell yourself ghost boy. Although that brings up a question I've wondered about. What is the Shroud afraid of? What could put any fear into it? Other than imprisonment or exorcism? Like is there a possibility of a another being/creature giving it fear?
Now I REALLY need to read that story. Oh vey.
You could say he's a "Dark Knight"
Yeah! Murky Number Seven! Love the ref
A Fallout Equestria lover, LB
I guess I should really enter The Institute in Fallout 4. I did read some TVTropes character pages, and X6 actually seems like an interesting companion, being a good character for how evil he is. I wouldn’t casually bring him along with me for my life (although I have struck compromises with Cait, she isn’t nearly as evil, however), but he seems like an alright character.
Also, now people are talking about Murky Number 7. I should really read more FO:E recursive fanfics.
