Yay! Update, thank you!

And thank you, too! Its always awesome to see comments like this providing that bit of encouragement. With any luck, the next chapter shouldn't be anywhere near as long away, mostly because now I've written both characters again I'm feeling a lot more confident to return to writing them, and my plans for the next chapter are already pretty well in motion, its just some final pieces to fall together to make it complete.
I'm up to chapter 4 and I'm loving it.
Curious about Cherry...

Anything in particular caught your attention?

I'm onto 6 and it's so real.
It's not a copy of a video game, a retelling of another story, or something cheesy.
He's doing what I'd do if I was in his horseshoes.
The only thing that jarred me was character shifting out of no where without explication or reason.

Yeah, its something I really, really need to fix when I do eventually go back to my rewrites. Right now I'm currently working on chapter 26, but I do still have chapter 4 somewhat rewritten saved on my PC and plans to rewrite the vast majority of the fic. The main content won't change, but its the descriptions, dialogue depth and most importantly of all, formatting which needs work.
The reason for swapping was so Crimson could remain injured and yet continue to tell the story I wanted to tell (I dislike the idea of instant healing being abundant or cheap enough to do aside from exceptional cases), but you're absolutely right that it needs to be much clearer that its what's happening.
Edit: Also, thank you VERY much! I really did try to make Broken Bonds its own story, and I'd say, looking back on it, that I'm glad I did. The original was beyond awesome, but when everyone copies the games, it feels uncreative.
Haven't read the story. Jumped into the final page of comments to decide if I would add it to my read-later list (I did).
You wrote "I just have to get to work on doing it and stop letting distractions get in the way when I am free." Maybe give NaNoWriMo a try. It provides much encouragement to write, and finding a local writing group through NaNo can reinforce that encouragement. In your case, I would recommend you ignore the recommended word count goal and set your own goals for the month (edit x chapters, write y words).

Thanks for that, on both accounts! I'm always happy to hear of new interest and I'm also thankful for you reminding me about NaNo. I'd heard of it before, but spending some time away from writing entirely, I'd gone and forgot about it. Definitely worth taking that format and trying to make use of it for myself.
You're right that I'd be better off customising it to my own needs, but its absolutely worth utilising the format, like you say.
