I am Magnus, and I'm a bit of a loner, not entirely by choice. About one or two cycles ago, I retired only to find myself invisible to everyone except Death. This left me to my own devices and I perfected my abilities in manipulating the code of the Omniverse. Most of the time you can find me in my favorite café, staring idly into my tablet, focused on my work, displacing someone to a whole new, and happier, life. Now, Death sends me on endeavors involving errors and glitches across the Multiverse, sometimes sending me into the universe itself or into the emptiest parts of the Void.
Well, thankfully, I can always return to the café and relax.

A woman named Marsara Semmeture goes to a store to get the final piece of her costume but gets sent to Equestria as a Zerg Broodmother.

I have been meaning to make this for a while now, and Bronyparasite got me to start making it as well as helping me by editing, so thanks a lot!

Unofficial tags: Displaced, StarCraft II spoilers.

Status: Undergoing massive editing.

Equestria, the land of happiness and freedom, the land where people are constantly nice to one another, where harmony reigns supreme... for the ponies, at least.

For everyone else? You're treated like an alien most of the time, and when you're not, Equestria will find a way to make it extremely difficult for you. For me, it did just that upon my sudden and forced arrival. The second I wake up, I'm attacked by a group of pony hunters, and I'm just going to guess it was because I'm not exactly a pony, or human as a matter of fact.

Yeah, I'm some type of monster that I didn't even know about; I'm some kind of mix between a ram, a human and death. It looks disgusting as well as a little scary, but now I got to worry about surviving in this weird land.

How will I do that? I haven't the slightest clue...

Guy went to a convention as the Skull Kid and now is stuck as the mischievous imp. Mistaken as a creation and ally to Discord was locked in stone along with him. Will he find peace as far as an imp can get or steal some hearts? His new friends, a few fairies, a load of his own kind of chaos, and Equestria is in for a real treat! Why don't you join him?
I do not own MLP or Legend of Zelda, they belong to their respective owners minus if I use any OCs, fan-made weapon(s), etc.

A Displaced story.
Maiko Hayakawa, a 17 year old gamer girl living in Tokyo, has some terrible luck with her favourite convention. After running into a strange old woman, Maiko finds herself to be nothing more than a voice in the mind of a young child who got dumped into Equestria during the dead of Winter. Considering that the child is the younger sister of a goddess, this promises to be an interesting experience for poor Maiko.

Every universe has walls around it. Even if the universe itself is infinite there's a barrier keeping it from touching other universes. However some universes' walls are thinner than others. Some times this can be used used to great effect, like summoning creatures from another world to help you. But if the walls are too thin, things can fall through. With enough power involved, someone might find themselves in a world where they don't belong. That's just where Shigeo Kageyama (A.K.A. Mob) finds himself. Trapped in a land full of colorful cartoon ponies and absolutely brimming with energy, Shigeo has to find a way to get b when he's completely alone. And his presence hasn't gone unnoticed.

I don't own Mob Psycho 100 or My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. This art was created by KaryMetalRock on Deviantart.

I used to be an adult. Then everything went wrong. I don't know how, or why, but now I'm in the body of a five year old. That's not even the worst part. There's a murderer in my head and a psychopathic flower that travels with me. I don't know if I'll make it outta this situation alive, but you better believe I'm DETERMINED.

EDIT: also shout out to my main man rezas who helps me write all of my stories

[Rationalfic Deconstruction / Subversion of Displaced]
You’ve read the stories of people from Earth being “Displaced”: Their bodies are changed, their minds are warped, and they’re thrown across the multiverse, to whatever world and timeline their supernal "Displacers" decide upon.  Well, this story isn’t one of them...

...because when they tried to remake me, I didn’t let them.

A Rationalist Horror story, in which an Occultist from some version of Earth (implied to be the World of Darkness) undermines her own Displacement and ends up as a Self-Modifying Construct. Scientific Inquiry, Philosophical Debate, Rational Discussion, Body Horror, and Existential Hijinks ensue. Themes, Concepts, and Style inspired by HP Lovecraft, Elizer Yudkowsky, Gordon R Dickson, Edgar Allen Poe, Modern Prometheus (Frankenstein), Dresden Codak, World of Darkness, and Friendship is Optimal.
Front page on JUL 28th, AUG 12th, OCT 30, and every update after that.

Your story breaks the shitty norm that most displaced stories have in common by being an 'actually interesting story' instead of a powertrip for a horny teen.

This is like brain porn. My head hurts but in a good way.

Author’s Notes

I often find Displaced fics to be more often Miss than Hit with me. Often, they're generic, poorly written, or just do not do anything worth reading with the concept.  This is an experiment to trt out a few other concepts which aren’t used often, even by me, including some which directly subvert Displaced as a genre, and maybe even come up with some advice for those authors. This is also a crossover with the upcoming Dragon: The Oroboroi Chronicles, a World of Darkness rulebook which I lead the development team for.

I hope you all enjoy this, and I implore you to leave some feedback in the comments section: I'll experimenting with a few uncommon concepts here, and I'd like to know how people feel about how they're coming across. :3

FAQ

Because people keep bringing these things up...

Horror/Dark Tags

I've had multiple people ask "how bad does it get?" Note the lack of the "gore", "sad", or "mature" tags or anything like that. Yes, there is blood and death at some point in this story, but the real horror of this story comes from the philosophical and scientific quandaries the characters go through: this is "intellectual horror", not "visceral horror".

Length

In the interest of this NOT becoming one of those long, sprawling fics, I plan to keep this limited to a manageable 10 chapter limit, not counting Prologue and Epilogue. No one wants to read something that long, and I'd rather not be stressing over this 6 months from now.

Sequel

The Sequel is already in the works, with scenes already written. It will be a more episodic story revolving around world optimization and interplanar hijinks.

Crossovers

To be clear, I do plan on having the main character make one of those "Token" things, but as they often get in the way of actual stories, that won't happen until the end of the story. The Sequel will be crossover-heavy.

I should have known something was up when I found an old Halloween costume in my closet from when I was six. I really should have known something was wrong when the costume actually fit.

...

Good thing Mewtwo is still one of my favorite Pokemon, because I am one, and this is most definitely not my world.

A Tale of the Displaced

April 8: Sorry all. Accidentally hit the Publish button on latest chapter before I was ready. Carry on.

April 9: Okay, the chapter Friendship Report is up for real now.

There are and will be crossover chapters with other Displaced authors and characters. Those chapters are meant to be fun, but I understand that some people do not like such crossovers. That is fine. The main story stands on its own: you can skip the crossover chapters without having to worry about missing anything important. Though I hope you will at least give those chapters a chance.

But please, do not comment solely to say how you dislike Displaced crossover chapters. It is not conducive, and it just spams the comments section with negativity. By all means, criticize my work, tell me what isn't working or what you think I could be done better, but please don't insult me by deriding my choices for my story. Any such comments made from here on out may be judged as spam and deleted.
