Somewhere, there is another Equestria, another world in which copies of the Element Bearers live different lives, unaware of the destiny that was almost theirs. A world shrouded in darkness.

As these two worlds begin to collide, six strangers will discover that they must inherit the mantles passed down by their alternate selves and become heroes in a world without rainbows.

As far as great ideas go, Twilight stumbled across the best one of all - throwing Pinkie Pie a shocking, frightening horror birthday surprise party! But as the six friends walk into the old dilapidated house on the hill, and the moon rises high above them, pranks turn sour and tempers boil, and the six friends find out that perhaps, the best ideas might not be so great after all. As the gang succumb to the dark horrors of the house and fall to machinations of their own design, Equestria gains another sordid legend to tell.

During her time-twisting battle with Starlight Glimmer, Twilight finds herself in an Equestria ruled by a tyrant alicorn that calls herself the Queen of Equestria. In this world, Twilight's friends are gone and beyond her aid, and Equestria's citizens live in fear of their ruler's wrath should they anger her.

But no one has ever seen the pony who suffers the most in this world.

Pinkie Pie has lived a lifetime in Pony ville, but after suddenly waking up from a dream, she struggles to find her bearings in this distant, clouded world of memories past. Sometimes dreams are more vivid than reality.

In an alternate universe, Princess Celestia is sick and tired; tired of all the chaos that was spreading throughout Equestria. There were murderers, thieves, and other such ponies running about. Celestia has had enough. At random, she chose 30 ponies to set a public example of who was in charge.

These ponies were taken to a secluded area where they are each given basic supplies, and a 5 minute head start in a battle to the death. Last pony standing leaves with their life.
