Discord has turned good, Twilight has gained her wings, and all is well in Equestria. However, Discord begins to help Twilight in the library, and they begin to find books and scrolls telling of the Princess' past. The seeds of doubt begin to be planted, and Discord is the one to water with chocolate rain. We'll get to see, in this sequel to my story "Equestrian Darkness", who really pulls the strings... and further more... Why.

Her eyes were what got me, the first time I saw her. Those violet eyes were like nothing I had ever seen. She was truly bizarre, but in an oddly good way. I knew only that I wanted to be with her. Of course, I had no idea she would lead to my destruction.

Also yeah I know, this can't happen.. If Nightmare Moon was created then Discord wouldn't be sealed away so I get that.

This is just a "what if" story so don't take it to heart. You can always just look at the picture like me and think he's just planting the "seeds" as the picture says before she sealed him away.

But I digress, had fun writing this.

Years drifting in space aboard a frigates wreck with nothing to do but wait and think can really wear an AI thin, and when that AI is already past its expected rampancy date, all that thinking time is dangerous. Very dangerous. Fortunately for Cortana, the frigate is pulled into an unknown planets atmosphere, allowing her to take her mind off of rampancy for a while. After being rudely awoken from cryo sleep, the Master Chief, along with Cortana, manages to escape the burning vessel. They have very serious problems though...

They have no idea where they are, or how they'll get back to Earth.

They can only hope someone finds their distress beacon, and fast. The Chief doesn't have many supplies, and with a rapidly decaying AI in his head, he has a lot on his hands. Luckily for them, the planet is life supporting. Unfortunately though, the inhabitants of the strange planet aren't the most welcoming of a seven foot tall alien, especially when that alien is as aggressive and lethal as Spartan-117. The Chief has only one objective, find a way off of the planet. The inhabitants will soon learn, however, that the Spartan is extremely aggressive, and will stray slightly from his objective to harm them if he must. Chief also learns that these beings are no pushovers, and will defend their home and kingdom with their lives.

The first few chapters are mostly to establish a plot, there will be much more action after them. This is also my first fic, so constructive criticism is appreciated. I will be reading the comments quite thoroughly for the first while, so you may see some of your ideas in future chapters. I am only 15 years old, so basically, I have school, homework, and sports that will quite often get in the way of this story, but I will work on it as much as I can when I can. I won't give up or quit in the middle of the story despite what the ratings may be, and last but not least, I won't be turning this into some huge cliche war where Equestria ends up fighting the UNSC and whatnot. Because Equestria would get screwed. Badly. Then the story would be ruined, so, I hope anyone who reads this enjoys!

PS: This made it into the featured box the second day it was uploaded, and remained there for a couple weeks. I'm pretty damn proud of that since this was my first fanfic ever, and the first thing I ever posted anywhere. The only other people to read my creative writing creations were my English teachers and occasionally my grandparents and father. So seeing the first thing I submit get such great feedback and a huge amount of views (huge to me), is just amazing to me.

Do you know what it's like to be trapped in stone, not fun. Especially if you're someone like Discord and have to deal with your own twisted mind. Let's take a look into Discords mind while he's trapped in stone and see how enjoys other company. Of course, this would all be easier if he wasn't insane.

Discord needs something to keep himself occupied that won't make him end up as a glorified lawn gnome for another thousand years. Knowing that causing chaos on any scale he would like is off-limits, he decides to play his hands/claws at a diversion Celestia seems to have a addiction to: teaching students!

While the search for little ponies he can tutor in the ways of chaos is cold at first, he eventually stumbles on a little pony who seems after his own twisted patchwork heart. A little pony who's bossy. A little pony who's annoying. A little pony who, just possibly, reminds him a little of himself when he was just a few thousand years old.

Indeed, this "Diamond Tiara" is going to be the best student he's ever had!

Jack is different. Not from just his age group, but from others as well. Cold, calculating, and tactical are but a few of the words used to describe him.

But when he is thrust into a new world, when he is attacked and nearly left to die by those who stand for love, tolerance, and friendship, what will happen from there?

Plans, power, corruption, and the seeds of a dark new age will be sewn. For such schemes are the ways of those who hide behind masks. Follow the story of Jack, and learn the Markings of a King.

I decided to add a bit more flair to these familiar stories that we all know and love: Nightmare Moon's creation and Discord's initial defeat. I thought to myself, Why not combine the two? So I did, and I'm pretty happy with the result. I hope you will be too. If not, criticism is always welcomed. Enjoy.

What was originally meant to be a quick trip around Equestria turns into a harrowing journey that expands from the comfy suburbs of Ponyville to the forgotten ruins of an underground kingdom to the biting tundra of the north, all filled with odd characters, laughter and an evil that has lasted for generations as the pets each embrace their inner hero. Because as we all know: the greatest of legends always start with the smallest beginnings.
