Years pass. Children grow. Fashion trends rise and die.
Even as the world changes around them, things between Rarity and Spike have remained frustratingly stagnant. Either by her selective and willful ignorance or his cowardice, the two remain friends, precious friends yes, but little more.
All it will take to change everything is a night of poor judgment, leaving Rarity and Spike to rebuild their relationship with the remaining pieces.
This story is a sequel to Rarity Gets Jealous
It's Hearth's Warming in Ponyville again, a season characterized by joy, merrymaking, and love. Spike is currently toeing the line between Rarity's and Flitter's interest in him, but a strange occurrence in Ponyville soon after the arrival of Princesses Luna and Cadence turns the whole crazy love triangle on its head.
This is a sequel to the smash hit "Rarity Gets Jealous"...I suppose it's not completely necessary to read the first story to understand this one (as most of the plot can be gleaned from context), but I would recommend reading it prior to this one, to get the most fulfillment out of it.
Rated Teen for some suggestive passages.

Every weekend when the library's closed and no threats to Ponykind are around, Spike and Twilight enjoy their nights with munchies and some flicks. This time though, their choice of cinema encourages some interesting discoveries between the long-time friends.

I am not very fond of the episode Spike at Your Service. Really because Spike was turned into a complete idiot. I wanted to write something that was more respectful to his character.
Since trading a library tree for a much larger crystal castle, Twilight Sparkle and Spike don't see each other quite as much as they used. One quiet day in a string of quiet days, the young alicorn decides to visit her even younger companion.
Where did Spikes egg come from? Why did Celestia have his egg in the first place? Why was she using it in a test to find a pony she would eventually groom into a Princess?
In shock over the loss of the Golden oaks library and believing his friends are gone, Spike has something trigger within his little dragon body that he had never felt before....or had he?

Spike feels like a Dragon without purpose and without anything to offer his friends. He leaves Ponyville without warning his friends, in an attempt to find his purpose on his own.
Princess Luna finds Spike and shows him the nightmares that his friends have been having in his absence, in an attempt to convince him to return to Ponyville of his own free will. Spike learns that dreams are the quickest road to the heart.
