Long before the war, the lands of Equestria were knitted together with a blanket of steel rails and wooden cross-ties, tracks that stretched to connect every major and minor settlement across the country. Even after the destruction wrought by the balefire bombs and megaspells, the tracks that tied Equestria together remained vital, and as the world recovered from the apocalypse the technologies needed to bring such a massive form of transportation and communication came with it. While the trains that ran following the megaspells rarely carried similar cargo to those that ran prior, the payments for the irreplaceable service still flowed, for better or worse. This is the written adaptation of my Fallout Equestria tabletop game. It follows cannon up until the detonation of Maripony, but it stops following there as the time between that and the enclave stepping in- as well as the siege of Neighvarro- is extended greatly. There is much more that is different, but you'll have to read and follow along.
Credit will be given to the players as their characters are made relevant. The tabletop starts when the prologue ends.

In the months that followed the Day of Sunshine and Rainbows, groups who backed the Stable Dweller allied together in spite of their differences to help create a brighter future for Equestria. New Canterlot now stands as a beacon of light and civilization for the rest of the wasteland.

Meanwhile, a born wastelander named Roulette, still rocked by the havoc of the events of Operation Cauterize, must come to terms with the bitter realities of what happened that day. She remembers the days before the Sun and contemplates her life in a changing wasteland. For a mare who lost everything, she can only hope to make something of herself in this ‘new’ wasteland and be like the hero she admired in her foalhood.

Her travels take her to the Outpost 52 on the border of now civilized New Canterlot territory for a bitter reunion with an old friend, but when her foalhood hero's name comes calling again, it brings up painful memories and questions from her wasteland days. What's a wasteland mare to do? 

Sometimes you have to take a gamble...
