We have all read the stories about a human waking up as N.M.M in the castle of the two sisters heck even I've read a bunch of them. They were always my favorite with a normal guy trying not to get blasted by rainbows for having the same body as some villain.

But never thought that could happen to me!

Now my hair is on fire, I'm most likely 6 years old and this castle I woke up in looks an awful lot like a certain one that located in the magical land of Equestria.

But that's only fiction right?

Well if there is one positive thing about this...I got to keep my hands.

In the aftermath of the Changeling incursion of Canterlot during the marriage of Shining Armour and Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, Equestria gears itself for war against the Changeling menace. Against a foe that can take the shape of anypony, assume their life, and undermine Equestria from within, the Royal Pony Sisters create a new institution to monitor their Royal Guard for any Changeling corruption, cowardice, and incompetence: the Commissariat. This story is a sequel to Dark as Chitin

Proceeding the events of Dark as Chitin, our protagonists finally have time to relax and settle into their roles within Equestria, or so it seemed. Chimera and Luster Dawn are faced with a new challenge, guardianship of a, particularly naughty filly. Chrysalis, on the other hoof, is having trouble re-entering society and conforming to the norms of pony-kind. Meanwhile, Soul's adjusting to his role as The Lord of...Nothing.

As everypony carries on with their lives, a threat looms just outside the edges of perception, possibly threatening all that ever was, is, and will be.

The star system Omega Centauri was just another oddity on a map to scientists in the not too distant future. However when they found the star was orbiting an earth-sized, earth-like planet instead of a black hole as its motion had suggested, a mission was scrambled to investigate this most unusual of celestial behaviors.

Hamstrung by politics, and nearly crippled before it began, the 'Lone Ranger' mission was reduced to just one crew member and left to his own devices.
