Spike had always wanted to be with Rarity and felt certain she was the one he was meant to be with. He never thought he needed anyone else. But he didn't realize he had won over Fluttershy without even trying. But will Spike let go of his long time obsession and take a chance with someone who returned his feelings?

It's Hearth's Warming Eve again, and Twilight Sparkle is freaking out about her party at the library. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

It's Spike and Fluttershy that are really worried though. Ever since Rarity turned Spike away, he's been hanging out with everypony's favorite shy Pegasus. But is just friendship, or is it more?

On this night, they'll tell each other, and we shall see. The worst they could do is say no to each other, right? Oh...

NOTE: This is a one-shot I did to take some time off from my main story. I caved into the season, so I decided to do a pairing I like a lot. Spike and Rarity go to Canterlot on a long weekend vacation both with plans, but things don't always go as planned. Spike and Rarity are in for a ride. Feelings will be tested and a new ship that I should have never attempted may come to light.

This year, the ponies decide to play Secret Hearth's Warming. Everything is all fine and dandy, but when Sweetie Belle draws Spike's name, her friends keep bothering to finally tell him how she feels.
