Castling is a special move in chess involving one of the player’s rooks and the player’s king. The move consists of moving the king two squares towards a rook on the player's first rank, then moving the rook to the square over which the king crossed. After this move, the king and the rook end up just next to one another.

And thanks to a friend’s kindness, a certain calculating, chess master filly would have a chance to end up closer to her princess than she ever thought. But can a filly like her truly leave her past behind to find another way? Can you learn to trust another when manipulation is your destiny?
Can a chess player like Cozy Glow learn to be a pawn?

Confused, devoid of memories and lost in a world filled with mythical creatures, little Raichu faces ferocity of monsters. Taken for a creature from the Everfree Forest, she’s adopted by Twilight and her friends as they show her friendship and compassion, doing their best to help her restore her missing memories.

Determined to make friends and find purpose in her new home as she slowly regains her memories, Raichu gets attached to her new owners and is willing to repay their kindness, no matter the cost. Little does she know that a chance to repay them draws near.

Having learned much about Equestria from both Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer, the two principals from CHS have always been curious about what the world is really like. Neither Sunburst nor Zephyr did much with their lives. Sunburst subsisted on the bare minimum of his magical talent, while Zephyr coasted from job to job, relying on others. When the two of them happen to meet in a hair salon and strike up a conversation, their pasts come to light in way that would be impossible for any other pony.

When trying to focus on her studies, Sunset Shimmer is stuck watching an annoying little filly who just won't let her study.

Being a princess can be hard however, even if it's only an honorary title, especially when you're the twin sister of Prince Blueblood.
