This story is a sequel to No Rest For The Traitor

It's been a long ride, it really has, and even heroes need a break from time to time. Unfortunately, some heroes are just so hated by fate that even the most innocent of days have to turn into an experience leaving lasting wounds.

After the events in Manehattan Mistake has to get used to a life of blindess and the reliance on the help of his friends who decide to make things more bearable by leaving Equestrian winter and visiting a sunny beach in the Griffon Empire with all expenses paid by the crown.

NOTE: Readable as a sequel or a single story with a reeeeeally long prologue summarizing what has happened until now.

When one ends up dying in battle, one expects to move onto the afterlife. Not for me though, for I ended up as a filly, being taken in by the ruling family. Now this sounds all nice and dandy, but there is one major problem, I wasn't the first one to be taken in, and the prick who's going to be my cousin turns out to be in a similar boat as me, except that he and I belong to separate organizations that can't stand each other. Well, at least this will be an interesting foalhood.

Cromach is a griffon soldier who, as many young ones do, suffers from being too smart for his own good. He coasts through life until the point when he breaks one of the fundamental rules of Griffon Imperial Legion and gets punished for it. Unfortunately for him, the punishment for said transgression is death. His only choice now is whether his is going to be slow and torturous or quick and painless.

Too dark? Well, it's not that bad. According to books and movies it is possible to survive in the desert and return to normal life, right?

Too bad none of that matters because this story isn't his.

Unlike most of my work, this story comes with no promises of quality, no promises of completion, and no promises that I will listen to feedback either. I am embarking on this project solely for my own enjoyment, because I am having fun writing it. I'm posting it only because I'm sure a few of you will also have fun reading it.
