Rainbow Dash has never been seen around her parents. Nopony knows what they even look like. She's been raising herself since she was a little filly after what happened. She's alone in Ponyville. Her friends have moved on to much bigger things. They write to her and keep in touch, but they never visit. Their schedules are full of other things that need to be done. She tells her parents story now because of the dark secret she has kept since her friends leaving.
This is my first Slice of Life and Sad fic, so I don't know how it will turn out. The idea came from a picture I saw with RD and Fluttershy. I hope you like it!
Also, check the date of this story. I started writing it before we saw her dad in episode 12 of season 3.

When the Alicorn Amulet, a cursed relic of unspeakable power, goes missing, Equestria begins to wither and die. The only ponies brave enough to prevent its annihilation are six misfits—a criminal, a malcontent, a reject, an outcast, an exile and a fool—who would have preferred to remain in the background and leave the heroics to someone else.

STORY HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Twilight Sparkle and her friends go on a long deserved vacation on a cruise ship. Just as they start to enjoy themselves, a very large wave that seemingly comes out of nowhere cap-sizes the boat and sends the mane 6 stranded on an uninhabited island.

Twilight's magic is drained, Rainbow is injured and can't move, and there doesn't seem to be anything they can do to get off the island. They'll just have to wait until somepony rescues them or Twilight's magic restores.

But Twilight can't shake the feeling that they're not alone on the island. Is it because of the strange noises in the forest or is it because of the strange figure standing in the distance at night?

Chris and Keon are two zoology majors that get separated from their class after following what Chris believed to be an undiscovered species of bird, during a trip into the Amazon rainforest.

Finding themselves stuck in a pit, they discover an ancient ruin adorned with murals and statues of what they believed to be ponies. They soon realize that the bird in question was the orchestrator of their fate, as they’re brought to what they are certain is their deaths.

Waking up, they are not only separated from each other, but in a new land entirely. Will they take this opportunity to learn about creatures only ever seen in legend, or will they be too busy being studied themselves?

It's Twilight's birthday! Pinkie gives Twilight a book on how to be Pinkie. At first dubious, Twilight becomes fascinated by the view into Pinkie's mind.

Pie. There's nothing Pinkie likes better. Up until this point, she thought she'd experienced just about everything related to it.

But Twilight has a decidedly different application for pie. And it doesn't involve eating it.

Well, I once had an idea: "My Little Pony and Power Rangers." Turns out, it wasn't original... But, here's my version. Note: Pony Rangers will be based loosely on the plot of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers at first, but it will trail off into its own plot, after a while. Characters (this and [SPOILER!] second season) will be: Rainbow Dash as Red Ranger; Rarity as Black Ranger; Applejack as Blue Ranger; Fluttershy as Yellow Ranger; and Pinkie Pie as *rolls eyes* Pink Ranger. OTHERS: Nightmare Moon as Rita; Zecora, Manticore (from Friendship is Magic part 2), Gilda, and Trixie as Rita's minions; Celestia as Zordon; Spike as Alpha; Twilight Sparkle as ???; Derpy as ???; Applebloom, Sweetiebelle, and Scootaloo as ???; Discord as ???, and that about sums it up. IMPORTANT NOTE: My ideas develop at a rate that I can't always control, so what you have read above (while I rather like it) IS subject to change.
