While visiting her hometown, a small filly approaches Lyric with a question. Unicorns have their magic and pegasi can fly, but is there anything that makes earth ponies special? Fortunately, Lyric just may have the answer.

This story was inspired by someone I don't associate with anymore, but was close with at the time of writing.

They say that I must send my sister to the moon for one thousand years. They say that she is too far gone, and that it is for the best. But I cannot believe that. I refuse to believe it! Luna is my sister after all, and I can still save her!

When these ponies face the ends of their lives, they are forever altered in ways they never could have imagined.

This story elaborates on some things that took place in a Heroes of Equestria campaign and that can be found in Magical Melodies and Guardian Halo. They do not have to be read for this story to be understood and enjoyed.

Rated Teen for some mild language and for some blood spilled in battle, though it's fairly minor.

Note: This story has nothing to do with the movie Music of the Heart. I didn't even know it existed until I searched the story title a few minutes before posting. If I can think of a better title for my story, I'll change it.

After the Royal Sisters came into power, explorers set out across Equestria to make new discoveries and to report what they found. Dashing Hoof was one such pony, and his discovery was perhaps the most magical of all.

Bat ponies. They are a part of Equestria just as much as any earth pony, unicorn, pegasus or alicorn. They make up Princess Luna's guard. But not much is known about them. Where did these ponies come from? Who were they before? One ancient tome, penned by an explorer of a time long past, tells all.

Years after the tragic accident that tore them apart, Twilight is determined to move on from her loss, and she sets off on an independent research project to investigate the strange happenings at Canterlot High.
