A short story that shows that rejection doesn't just hurt to receive, but is possibly even worse to dish out.

Rainbow Dash asks a friend to proofread a story for her. What he doesn't realize, of course, is that the story may be more than just a tale.

Rainbow Dash takes in a baby Pegasus that was left on her doorstep and affectionately names her Cumulus, she finds motherhood to be harder than it looks but loves the young Pegasus to death. But when it's revealed that Cumulus was born blind, Rainbow finds it harder to raise her with the pain of knowing that Cumulus will never see her mother's face. And as Cumulus grows, she has to fight to find her true self with her disability, and to see the brighter side of life...even if she can't literally see it.

This is a personal story for me, because I am adopted and I do have ADHD, Organic Brain Syndrome and I'm Emotionally Impaired...and trying to get through life with a disability is not an easy ride.

Now that it's Hearth's Warming Eve, you can only wonder if there is anything you can do to improve things, especially since she said the two of you shouldn't see each other anymore.

She looked him squarely in the eyes. “Soarin, I’m really not sure if this is normal… and I don’t want to sound stupid… But…”

An old acquaintance with only the eyes for a certain blue flier enters town? An early and unexpected meeting with a certain parental figure?

It’s that time of year again. Hearth’s Warming Day is nearing, and Twilight has a special surprise for her family. Ever since Twilight and Rainbow Dash got married and took Scootaloo under their wing, the young filly would always hide away in her room during the holidays, every year, after seeing a present labeled “To Scootaloo, from Mother and Father”, leaving her confused, saddened, and angry.

But this Hearth’s Warming celebration is different. Not only is Twilight surprised by what she finds, but she also realizes that it is, in fact, the best Hearth’s Warming Day ever.

This story was directly based off 'Awoken': Wooden Toaster and H8 seed's spirited successor to the Rainbow Factory.

Food for thought, folks. I wrote this story on my own time and Obab later added extra material, three years later, when she converted the story into her audio production. She did not participate in the original production (if that was not clear already). If you read the story below you'll see the original, untampered text!

The decline into darkness had been easy enough... but when a high ranking Rainbow Factory employee begins to loose faith in the program and attempts to leave, things get out of hoof.

Having lived the majority of his life in the twisted building known as the Rainbow Factory-climbing up the brutal ladder and eventually becoming an Orchestrator-a lone colt finds the atrocity's he's committed in his past coming back to haunt him in his waking hours.

Driven by the need to return to normal society and the thought of redemption, he devises a risky plan that will ultimately decide the very fate of the Rainbow Factory as it's come to be known.
