Vinyl Scratch wants funds and a place to mount her very own nightclub: Vinyl's Cage. And... if she can, she'd really like to get Octavia to help her out, and to end up in her bed.

Octavia came for a business talk and was greeted by lousy and uncouth flirting, and she wants nothing more than to go back to her Cello practice, but she promised to listen to Vinyl.

Seeing they wouldn't get to an agreement, Vinyl asked her good friend Pinkie to let her use... The Room.

This story is in the same universe as "Of Horseshoes, Apples and Feathers", and it's set a year before that timeline.

Vinyl Scratch, also known as DJ-P0n3, is one of the most famous DJs in Canterlot. But lately, she's been feeling like something's missing in her life. And then a gray Earth pony mare shows up at her club one night...

Author's Note: I wanted to do something different with the Octavia/Vinyl Scratch pairing. In all the stories I've read, Tavi was the reserved, more quiet one while Vinyl was the party girl. But what if it were the other way around? What if Vinyl was the more reserved one and Tavi the wild girl? This is my attempt to expand on that idea.

When Octavia sees Vinyl's affections towards a stallion, she can't bring herself to confess her feelings towards her childhood friend. Jealousy leads to an argument on Hearth's Warming Eve, and when Octavia is set to play music at the local play, she is shocked by a sad call from Vinyl. With someone close to her dying, Vinyl finally begins to question her life, and what she truly means to Octavia.

A refined mare fresh out of high school and a dropout following her dreams find themselves forced to spend a lot of time together.

With the help of a meddling psychology tutor and their new classmates, can they find what they've been looking for?

It’s been a month since Vinyl Scratch proposed to Octavia, and things have gone well. Even meeting the parents, a few days back, didn’t explode in their faces, so things are looking great.
Of course, this is when everything goes terribly wrong one night at dinner with Tavi’s parents.
Perhaps wrong isn’t the most fitting word. Awkward would probably fit better.

After another dull day of practicing, Octavia feel like she need a well-deserved rest. When Lyra invites Octavia to check out a new club that opened in town, the mare politely refuses. But Octavia will soon find out that the body also has its own desires.
