When Pinkie told the others about Rainbow's cookie prank on the whole town, they all decided to fight fire with fire by having the entire town prank her.

It was simple in concept, everypony would act like there was something in the cookies that made them into cookie craving zombies, they'd corner Rainbow in a confined space, and then they'd reveal themselves after scaring her silly, teaching her not to prank so much.

In hindsight, they probably should have known better than to overstimulate the adventurous and action-packed imagination of their pegasus daredevil.

An alternate ending to 28 Pranks Later.

Learning to settle and make do with what you have been given is a fundamental part of being an adult.

So is wishing things had turned out differently.

Rainbow Dash hasn't been having a good time since Discord was defeated. Her supervisor suddenly thinks she can't handle a simple weather schedule. Her relay team all suddenly have a grudge against her. Something isn't right, and it's not limited to her. Applejack's family is watching over her like a jailhouse warden. Twilight is avoiding them all, visiting with strange ponies, and losing sleep on something she won't talk about. Pinkie Pie, and Rarity are both having problems they can't explain. And for Fluttershy, it's the worst of all.

Without Twilight’s guidance, 5 ponies have to figure out what happened to the town, and why their lives are so messed up despite Discord being long gone. Somehow they have to get Twilight to open up to them again, and accept help from her friends. But nothing they do seems to work right. They’re at a loss of what to make of any of this, until Rainbow Dash stumbles upon a truly chilling revalation, that throws into question everything the 5 of them have ever known.

When trouble calls, Dash wants an obvious goal, a big bad monster to defeat, but now the only thing she can see in front of her are all her friends.

The fic's events begin after "The Mane Attraction", but before "The Cutie Re-Mark". Also Cadance has yet to become pregnant. The reason the map isn't mentioned is because the fic was started before the airing of Season 5 and the official time this fic takes place within the canon wasn't officially decided until March 2016.

Not long after Tirek's defeat, Twilight Sparkle looks back on the Mane 6's victories over entities such as Discord, Nightmare Moon, Sombra, etc. but gets a nagging feeling in her mind: something's missing. Every time she remembers using the harmony powers successfully, she keeps feeling that there was always one part of the magic she and her friends were missing.

Later on, Twilight and her friends are shocked to find out that Tirek has escaped again, but this time, he's not alone. Thanks to his dark magic, he has managed to create an army of his own including with a band of "friends" that rival even the alicorns' powers!

The protagonists discover that the Mane 6's harmony magic isn't enough to defeat Tirek's army; even with the combined might of the other princesses and Discord. So, they decide to reach out to other forces for help.

Twilight has been to the human world and met her counterpart there. Something about the encounter is bothering her, though. More specifically, something about the other Twilight.

With the help of her friends, Twilight does a bit of soul-searching and arrives at a conclusion that she may not like.

Twilight Sparkle is dead. She died in battle, fighting to preserve the uneasy union on United Equestria between the pony races of old Equestria and the space ponies of Unicornicopia.

But in the wake of Twilight's death, the harmony she strove for has not endured. Using their control of the might armed organisation Starfleet, the Unicornicopian grip upon the land has only gotten tighter. Celestia is isolated, Twilight's friends are scattered, across the stars millions live or die at the whim of the Grand Ruler and his proconsuls.

Project Sentinel is the next step in the evolution of Starfleet, a perfect defence against a hostile universe: clone soldiers created from the DNA of the very best that ponykind has to offer. One such clone, Eve, is a physical copy of Twilight, with enhanced strength and none of the pesky moral qualms that made the real Twilight so annoying for Starfleet to deal with. When Eve, together with a small group of fellow clones, breaks free to search for deeper meaning in her existence, she sets off a chain of events that may allow all of Equestria to break free from tyranny, and all ponies to choose their own destinies once more.

It has been a year since the Wonderbolts disbanded, and Spitfire now instructs foals on how to improve their flying. Once class ends, the last pony she ever wants to see visits her. It's Rainbow Dash. What does she want?
