What do you do, after you've made the impossible, possible?

With the Wonderbolt tryouts looming just around the corner and rumors of Spitfire being able to perform the Sonic Rainboom at will, Dash is at wits end. She needs something greater, awesomer, more epic than just a mere Rainboom. After all, to perform that trick a second time would label her a one trick pony and if Spitfire could pull it off, then what was the point?

So what trick could possibly be greater than a Sonic Rainboom?

Twilight is assassinated. Repeatedly. If only anypony knew what the word "immortal" meant...

Twilight Sparkle is not a risk-taker. She prefers the same old books in the same old library drinking the same old tea with the same old ponies. And that's okay!
On one fateful night, however, Rainbow Dash drags Twilight out on an adventure! Her very first rave.
It turns out Twilight isn't the only one hiding in a corner at these things.

This fiction was written as part of a challenge to write a fic in 30 days: one chapter per day, 2k words per chapter (you can learn more about it here!). However, this fiction will still be undergoing edits now that the challenge has ended. It currently has many many typos and errors, as it is literally unedited and was largely typed on a cell phone with gratuitous autocorrect--no need to point this out to me, I am very aware!

Five years ago, I screwed up. When I learned my daughter and Princess Luna were together, I tried to stop them. I ended up hurting my daughter, losing the love and respect of my family, and even driven out of Canterlot.

For five years, I have become a broken stallion, living in regret of my actions. With only a small shine of hope, I keep moving forward, hoping I can one day earn my redemption. And now I have a chance to make everything right again. Yet, the cost for doing this is high.

But that's alright. I'll do anything for Twilight.

Because I'm her father.

This is an Alternate Universe sequel of the fanfic To Love a Mare by Mayhem Darkshadow, the story follows on the premise that Night Light, Twilight's father, was exiled for his crimes against Twilight and Luna.

Twilight is very happy with her girlfriend, and wants their relationship to be as rich and healthy as possible. That means establishing a healthy relationship with her family.

Given their history, maybe Twilight is justified in being a bit nervous.

Fearing the consequences of her actions in the bipedal world, Sunset Shimmer returns to Equestria and moves to Ponyville where Twilight Sparkle can keep an eye on her. Sunset Shimmer, bored and beaten, casts about for something to distract her, but soon the feelings growing inside her for Ponyville's princess can no longer be ignored. Nervously, with a little help and encouragement, Sunset begins to open her long-frozen heart to Twilight Sparkle, but when the shadows of Sunset's past threaten to destroy any chance of her happiness in the present, Sunset and Twilight may have to risk everything they have and defy cosmic forces older than Equestria in order to seize their fragile chance at happiness.

Getting rejected by Sunset seems like a pretty good reason for Twilight to hole herself up in her room for three days. But when Rarity comes asking for help to develop a website for Carousel Boutique, Twilight can't ignore a friend.

Both of them may find they have something to learn about rejection, how to deal with it, and if a friendship really can become something more intimate.

This story is a sequel to The Derpy I Know and Love

It’s theorized that our universe is just one of an infinite number of universes. Some parallel and some not quite parallel, some identical (I am frightened at the prospect that there’s someone out there as screwed up as I am) and some completely alien.
This story is not in the ‘Equestria Girls’ universe. It is MLP:FIM set in a parallel universe that is slightly different. In this universe, the mane 6 were always human. There are no half-pony forms nor is there any contact with the MLP:FIM universe. Magic is not known to this world other than the stage type like Trixie performs.

Also, not everyone’s family situations are the same, as you will see.

This is perhaps how ‘The Derpy I Know And Love’ would have turned out in this universe.
