This story is a sequel to 9 Hours Earlier- Prequel of Angel Kisses

Young Applejack comes home, and she has tears in her eyes. When her Granny asks her what is wrong, she learns that on Applejack's first day of school she was bullied by her classmates because of her freckles. Luckily, a certain pony has a cure for tears, and a bandage for broken hearts.

Ever since they got back from the hospital, Caramel has been very unsure of himself. How can he be a dad when he screws up so much? How can he be expected to care for something so helpless? He doesn't know. But, sometimes, the smallest things can make the biggest difference.

After a month, when Caramel found Applejack and started to work on Sweet Apple Arces, he started to see, how Applejack was changing through his eyes. She wasn't the same mare he expected and he started to feel, if he really doesn't belong to her....

Caramel and Applejack have recently became parents to their daughter, Toffee Apple. But whilst Applejack has become more than aware that she has to do what's best for her daughter, Caramel is still trying to face the fact that he is now a parent and isn't sure that he'll be a good one.

Caramel is hired to work at Sweet apple acres. He remembers Applejack but she doesn't remember him that well. When he confesses his feelings towards Applejack she snaps at him causing the stallion to leave the farm and Ponyvile itself.

Can Applejack correct her mistakes or is it too late?

Caramel had always dreaded Hearts and Hooves Day. This year merely reinforced his opinions.
He never seemed to hold onto somepony for long. He had no idea until today that a relationship could be made and broken in one day.
Broken, he returns to Sweet Apple Acres in his habit of saying his goodbyes until next week. Also to once more think on what could most likely never be between him and a certain cowgirl pony.
He had no idea what awaited him once he opened the door.

While helping with a particularly heavy harvest, Caramel is befallen by an accident that temporarily leaves him unable to work. Numerous emotions of guilt and sorrow are brought to the surface, particularly after a somewhat tactless comment from one of Applejack's cousins, and while taking time off to recover from the injury he has sustained, the tan-coated stallion gloomily laments over the misfortunes he has suffered over the years. Luckily for him, Applejack is there to offer her support and remind him that every cloud has a silver lining - as was indeed the case in Caramel's life story...
