Twilight and Discord are a long way from home, and have to journey through a realm of madness and chaos to get back to Equestria. Fortunately, this is Discord's speciality, so Twilight is in safe hands. Less fortunately, all the local gods want him dead.

Sometimes I get impatient with how long I write and how long it will take before I get to a part I want to write, and then I write it anyway. (Which is why I'm calling this Eating Dessert First; it doesn't have much to do with dessert, no more than my other fics anyway, but it's me writing the "good parts" first.) This is a compendium of snippets from future parts of my fics, or single-idea scenes where I don't know if I want to write the rest of the fic, or character practice scenes -- basically anything pony that's out of its larger context, assuming there's going to be a larger context.

Because this is a compendium, it's tagged Random because literally any other tag (with the exception of Second Person, which I will probably never write in) could be included. I'll mark individual chapters with what tags they ought to have and what characters are in them.

Discord has settled in to a domesticated sort of life with his mate Fluttershy but he still retains wild urges. Sometimes he acts on them and sometimes he gets real excited about acting on them.

I blame Fluttercord45 for this one.

After his betrayal, Discord was sentenced to ten years in stone, with four parole periods a year, on holidays. He was also given a holiday to celebrate Chaos, which is his first parole period of the year. Over the course of a year, the Mane 6 and Discord will celebrate Topsy Turvy Day, the Summer Sun Celebration, Nightmare Night, and Hearth's Warming.

Established Fluttercord; I don't yet know if there are any other shippings. Spike is off learning to be an ambassador to the dragons, so he's not around at the moment.

A being that exists to perpetuate chaos. A creature that only knows how to destroy order and peace, tearing itself, and everything around it to pieces. A Draconequus is disorder, violence, and death.
As a child, Discord must confront this definition, and come to terms with it his own way.

Discord's newfound desire for friendship has forced him to give up a lot, including his freedom to wreak havoc as he pleases. That's fine, but as the Spirit of Chaos, he has to balance the books. Order must also be made to pay a price, and that price is the Loom of the Fates.

Lately, Discord had taken up gardening.

It was, admittedly, an unexpected hobby for the spirit of chaos and disharmony to pick up. But he'd easily justified it to himself--and everypony else who dared question--with the answer that chaos is being unexpected, and that true chaos is doing things that no one would have guessed, and so he was living perfectly up to his own nature.

He had created six unique varieties of flowers; they were completely unique to his little garden. Nowhere else in Equestria did one grow.

Three years ago, Applejack left Sweet Apple Acres for good to live with her Orange kin. This has left Big Mac as the only young, healthy Pony able to work the farm.

The ninteeen year old stallion is strong, smart and highly-responsible, and Sweet Apple Acres could have no more capable manager. The problem is that he must also watch his youngest sister; three year old Apple Bloom, who has a tendency to wander into trouble.

Will little Apple Bloom wander into mortal peril? And, if she does, will her big brother be able to save her?
