This story is a sequel to Daughter of Discord

As Hearth's Warming draws near, every pony runs into some holiday drama. Mothball searches for the perfect gift for his marefriend, Screwball; Prism fears her parents Rainbow Dash and Soarin won't make it home for the holidays, while Discord has to make amends to a filly whom he accidentally told there was no such thing as Santa Hooves.

While practicing a new spell, Rainbow Dash and Twilight are mistakenly sent to the North Pole. There they find out Santas' reindeer are sick with the flu. Luckily for Santa, the Element of Loyalty is willing to lead him a hoof.

It's Hearth's Warming Eve, and tonight, Scootaloo is alone. Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle are celebrating with their own families, and the filly's father is at a Hearth's Warming Eve party. Scootaloo wonders if somepony will come to help her, or if she will spend this usually joyous evening in a solemn silence.

Hearth's Warming Day has once again come to Equestria, and for the first time in her life, Scootaloo is spending it with her recently married adoptive parents Soarin and Rainbow Dash. But despite getting so many presents from so many friends - and from her real father - none can compare with the surprise that Rainbow Dash has in store for them.

There's nothing worse than feeling alone during the holidays, something that Scootaloo is all to familiar with. She knows that she has no family to celebrate with, save for a mother so drunk off cider she doesn't realize her daughter's heartbreak.

This is the filly's reality- the harsh card fate has dealt her. But this Hearth's Warming Eve, as she treks home through the brisk air all by herself, a certain rainbow-maned pegasus will show her the true meaning of family.
