This story is a sequel to Star Trek: Into Equestria Part 1 of 4: The Arrival

Doctor McCoy finally finds out some rules are meant to be broken to save your friends. Written in the POV of doctor McCoy.

The Starship Enterprise and her crew must deal with a scientist haunted by his past, armed with a tool that could either revive his lost world in a new form or bring untold destruction. Meanwhile, the last two members of a dying race have made their way into the Enterprise's holodeck and have started up a simulated world to live in, populated by colorful talking ponies that seem to transcend the limitations of normal holodeck characters.

From another perspective, Twilight Sparkle and her friends must deal with strangers from another world who make claims that shake the very foundations of Equestrian history, science and philosophy. Can even the Magic of Friendship stand up to the possibility that the world is a simulation? Or do the ponies have what it take to prove to the strangers the truth of their existence?

Upon the return of Princess Luna {Circa 0 AR} and the ascension of the Princess of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle {Circa 4 AR}, Equestria experienced a technological boom the likes of which had never been seen before or have been seen in the 100 years since. The nation progressed from fossil fuels to self-sustaining Arcano-Antimatter reactors to power the country within the span of fifteen years. Within seventeen years Major Charging Dawn of the Celestial Air Brigade was the first pony to set foot on the moon through means non-related to the usage of the elements of Harmony. Within twenty-five years, the first warp drive was created.

Within a hundred years, where we stand now, the universe has expanded in a way that none could have predicted before the return of Princess Luna and the ascension of Princess Twilight. It is this author’s humble opinion that the Princesses exerted a kind of pressure on the creative and innovative sparks of the beings of the world, whilst Princess Twilight increased their predilection for working together in friendship and harmony. The two elements, when combined, resulted in the massive explosion of technology that has been observed over the last century.

And now, the Equestrian Interplanetary Alliance discovers the answer to the biggest question asked since ponykind first looked to the stars.

They are not alone.

It has been months since Princess Luna has discovered video games, and it has been months since she found somepony worthy enough to challenge her; to meet her skills equally in virtual combat. But alas, she has beaten thousands of millions of players around the world, and not one of them came even close to her score. Shooters: she would take them down like a firing squad. Platforming: she already jumped her way to victory in ten seconds flat. Puzzles: outsmarted those poor gamers. Casual: too easy. Role-Playing Games: she's the highest level.

To Luna, multiplayer in video gaming was getting a tad bit boring, and she was desperately looking for somepony that could match her prowess. So you can imagine the joy of adrenaline she received when she met Button's mom online.
