As Rainbow Dash takes a nap, Rarity has some tea with friends.

There’s nothing going on, there are absolutely no stakes whatsoever, and they still manage to bring doom to all of Equestria.

While exploring Canterlot Castle, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash uncover a room filled with stone tablets connected to dials. Above each dial is the name of an alicorn they know.

These old things couldn't possibly control an alicorn's power, could they?

Only one way to find out.

Twilight was bored, alone and with nothing to do. One particular alicorn's carelessness in the handling of forbidden books was about to change that.
Most ponies would have probably discouraged her from playing with magic she didn't understand, but she wouldn't have listened to them either way. She had to admit though, maybe starting with the most complicated summoning ritual she could find hadn't been her best idea.
The good news was there weren't many left to complain.

Celestia had decided to become better at acting. It was a skill that could become useful in the future, and also something she wanted to learn. So she found the most expensive, well-regarded, respected, praised and recommended instructor in all Equestria and arranged a private lesson with her.

She was rather surprised when she found out who her teacher was going to be, and so was her teacher when she found out she would be teaching to Celestia.

Things didn't exactly play out the way they'd planned after that.

Nobles have long held sway over Equestrian culture. They are the trendsetters, the heads of the pack. Simply the way they speak can influence language. When they create compliments, similarly-phrased praise spreads throughout the nation. When they implement insults, ponies create situations for those insults to be used. One insult, in particular, has gone down in history as especially infamous.

I'm talking about butts and the photocopying thereof. This is still Equestrian nobility, after all. It's complicated. And stupid. Mostly stupid.
