It's just another normal week of Vinyl Scratch attending school with the most beautiful creature on the the face of the earth.

Vinyl loves living in Ponyville with her girlfriend. It's nice and quiet, and they can both talk with friends without being pestered by crowds of adoring fans.

On their last night together before they head to their concerts in Canterlot and Manehattan, Vinyl comes home to a lovely dinner to celebrate a special night that slipped her mind.

Fortunately, Octavia had no intention of letting Vinyl's birthday go uncelebrated just because they'd be in different cities when it came.

It's been three weeks since Octavia's smash hit, I am Octavia, and while the cellist's career is on a high note, that's about the only thing that is. Vinyl and Octavia are a complete wreck without each other, but repairing such damage to a relationship isn't easy, nor is it always possible. This is my answer (even though I know it's already been done here) to the question on everypony's mind:

Vinyl Scratch was always an odd one, seemingly hating classical music yet always willing to go with Lyra and Bonbon with a little convincing. One evening they see Octavia perform, and the songs are more than familiar to Vinyl. Realizing that Octavia is playing songs that Vinyl herself had composed when she was younger. Over time and through many trials with her new friends, Octavia discovers that there's a little more to Vinyl than she initially thought.

After the invention of radio, DJ-P0n3 (aka Vinyl Scratch) holds the first Equestrian talk show with her co-host Octavia. Octavia quickly finds out her superior is very eccentric, leading their broadcast to be constantly derailed, yet somehow remain popular. Faced with the possibility of being evicted from her apartment for inability to pay rent she decides to take a temporary job at a local nightclub.
