It goes about as well as you can expect.

As an Earth pony Royal Guard, he's sworn to protect his squad, especially the unicorns that have to risk their lives as they cast spells.

As a dad, he'd never miss one of his son's big days. He said he'd get his son a present, and he will.

Even if he has to do it from a hospital on the other end of the world.

Moonlight Raven enjoys darkness and gloom. Nopony understands her. If only she could meet a vampony or something, but what are the chances of that?

For the first time in years, Twilight tries on her old pair of glasses to figure out if they still induce strange effects in other ponies.

As it turns out, the effect is hugs. Many, many hugs. Unfortunately, she doesn’t know how to make them stop.

Though this story is a sequel, it's a standalone story and doesn't necessarily require any knowledge of the prequel.

Twilight has finally had the talk with Spike, and it's been quite some time since he's opened up. But when Spike starts carrying around a Rarity doll, it is clear that Spike hasn't let go of his crush on Rarity quite yet, and he may need another talking to.

But Twilight doesn't know about how much thinking the little dragon has been doing since then. Or just how much Spike values Rarity's attention, and how badly he wants to keep his love for her. Because even if it's just a plushie, to him, it's all he has left in the world.

And he doesn't want to let it go.

Twilight Sparkle is officially bored out of her skull. So bored, in fact, that when Fluttershy asks her to attend a dead squirrel's funeral, Twilight can't help but say yes. She's never been particularly fond of the late Mr. Acorn, but with Fluttershy almost in tears, and nothing better to do... well, what are friends for?

Spike is going to get a kiss from Rarity this year, he just knows it – and the mistletoe he just put over the front door is going to help him do just that. But when Twilight lets Rarity into the castle in his place, Rarity believes that Twilight is trying to get a kiss from one of her friends. Too bad Twilight has no idea what Rarity is talking about.

And when Spike answers the door after Sweetie Belle shows up to join her big sister for the Hearth Warming party, he finds his trap backfiring as he gets a kiss from the wrong unicorn.

Now Rarity is pestering Twilight about her love life and Spike can’t get away from the Cutie Mark Crusaders.

Where did it all go wrong?

When the guards find a foal crying in the city streets, they bring him to Celestia's attention. Soon after, It becomes apparent he has fallen through every crack in Equestria's society. Feeling she has failed the colt, Celestia takes him into her own home.
