After the events of the first Apple/Pie Hearth's Warming celebration, two ponies wish to spend a little time getting to know each other better.

Moondancer may know the principles of magic and science like the back of her hoof, but when it comes to the principles of friendship, she's objectively hopeless. Even so, there's one special unicorn who she's shared a close connection with since foalhood.

With the encouragement of her almost-friend Minuette, and the guidance of somepony she never expected, Moondancer is prepared to do everything in her power to find out just how close that connection truly is.

All she has to do is overcome her fear of putting herself out there...

...and get Twilight Sparkle's attention while she's at it.

Rainbow Dash doesn't do sappy. Mushy, cute, sweet, and romantic are also totally out. So of course she has a crush on an awesome pony who's none of those things: Applejack. Now she just has to find a not-mushy, not-romantic, totally cool way to tell her.

A trip for two to an island paradise seems like the perfect time. Swimming, volleyball, jet skiing, snorkeling-- plenty of chances for a really awesome moment. But when her dumb feelings only let her see sappy romance at every turn, her nightmares might just ruin everything.

Dear Diary,
Looking back, a scientific, step-by-step plan is completely ineffective for social situations (Note to self: don't do them, ever). Inviting Princess Luna to a Pinkie Pie Hearth's Warming party, with a checklist of steps in your head, was an awful idea. There are too many variables that a checklist cannot prepare for, such as an entrancing outfit. The plan resulted in a spectacular failure of when awkward meets anxious.
For future use, a spreadsheet might be better.
