The opening titles of MLP have always felt like they were from a different version of the show. This is that version...

Fed up with being useless at magic, a blank-flanked Twilight Sparkle does the only thing she feels she can do... she runs away. Fortunately, she has a good friend along for the ride...

Chapters (1)

Every student of the School of Friendship had to complete a capstone project before graduating. While the other students wrote songs, baked cakes, and other ordinary things, Ocellus and her friends decided to make their last project together count--they built a ship, and planned to sail it north all the way up the coast to Manehattan. But none of them were terribly good sailors, and they never could've imagined what found them on the water...

Now they've been washed ashore in a strange land, surrounded by creatures they never imagined in their wildest dreams. To survive long enough to make their way home, they might just have to make some new friends.

Chapters (4)

Twilight Sparkle was only a filly when Equestria detected the enigmatic Signal. A series of increasingly complex mathematical proofs, the Signal transformed from an intriguing curiosity to reliable evidence of extraequestrian life.

And as it happened, Equestria's exploration of their own solar system was nearly complete. With colonies orbiting every planet and large body, and an asteroid belt filled with miners and prospectors, Twilight's civilization was just about ready to turn its focus outward. The signal was less than ten light-years away, within reach of a daring, experimental voyage. A voyage Twilight Sparkle would lead.

Along with a small crew of the most skilled scientists and engineers Equestria could offer, Twilight is determined to uncover the mystery of the Signal, and brave the final frontier for future generations of Equestrian explorers.

A comment-driven, CYoA story. Please use the links provided in the author's notes of each chapter to vote, rather than the comments.

This story is a creative experiment of mine, one meant to explore the general idea that creativity is often most fostered by restrictions. As a result, I've imposed a number of restrictions on the writing of this story, which I'm stating explicitly here so I can be called out if I break any of them.

1. Brevity is the soul of wit
No chapter may be more than 1000 words long.

2. Every choice matters
Each chapter must end with a CYoA-style decision tree. At least one sub-optimal choice must be present, with no indication about which is which other than the prose itself.

3. Fate is cruel and the universe is heartless
The decision of the vote must be respected. This means any character could be killed, or the entire story could end in failure, if that's what the votes decide. Where numbers, stats, and randomization appear in the text, these elements are not verisimilitude.

Note: Because of the unusual production of this story, its chapters won't be edited in the same way as my usual fare. Feel free to point out any mistakes you encounter.

Awesome cover by Zutcha as you can probably tell. Editing stuff by Two Bit and Sparktail, where applicable.

Chapters (6)

This story is a sequel to My Little Mages: Seraphic Guidance

After Sunburst found the only uncounted for grinorum of Star Swirl the Great in a blind-buy barrel and finding out the fate of Star Swirl and the other five other legendaries, Twilight seeks to save her ideal and in turn rescue the other legendaries.

What could possibly go wrong?

A My Little Mages AU retelling of Shadow Play

Chapters (1)

It sounded like a perfect weekend getaway. Storm Kicker's parents have a cabin in the woods, and they're fine with her and a bunch of friends heading out there for a weekend of fun. They're only a bunch of teenagers partying in an isolated cabin far away from civilization, what could possibly go wrong...

Wait. There's a horror tag on this story. Oh. Ohhhhhh.

Chapters (2)

This story is a sequel to Sharing Beat Up Stories

Sunset Shimmer has had a busy month.

From an admittedly stupid cyberbullying attempt that somehow worked to her friends equestrian counterparts coming over to kick their own butts. Even finding someone from the human world stranded in Equestria to Twilight's counterpart ripping several holes in reality and probably leaking magic like no tomorrow into her homeworld.

All within the span of four weeks!

That being said, she's ready for a break. So, after a moment of nostalgia and reflection alongside her friends, she decides that their idea for her to take a vacation back home for a spell might be a good idea. She could even check to see how her dad was doing! After all, she did vanish quite a few years ago, so he probably would like to know she was at least okay.

So why did she have this foreboding feeling about it all?

And this is where we diverge from the canon story of SunShim's adventures. Does this mean Camp Everfree is a no go? No, it still will be a thing for Sunbutt Jr. to face later. There's just going to be this story between then and the last story's events before it swings back into the right lane. (probably the only reason there's no AU tag on this yet.) It may be a good idea to read the prior stories first, but I will try my best to make it not required to understand all of this.

That being said, please enjoy!

Sunset’s life is far from glamorous, but when she learns that Fluttershy has it even worse, Sunset can’t help but take it upon herself to solve her friend’s problems and give her a safe place to live.

For Fluttershy, the invitation is a shelter from the storm she’s spent years living in fear of. For Sunset, it becomes the hope to be part of a family for the first time in her life.

A story set in the Who We Become series.

Who We Become is a realistic romantic drama series focussing on queer characters. People sensitive to queer issues should take caution before reading.

After a chance encounter with a bat species she's never seen before, Fluttershy gets bitten, and strange things start to happen. As she slowly becomes more animalistic, her instincts heighten, and suddenly the feelings towards Rainbow Dash she'd been suppressing slowly begin to manifest. After a failed attempt to seduce her in order to feed, Rainbow Dash becomes committed to helping Fluttershy get well again while keeping her friend's dark affliction a secret.

This story is a sequel to Seven Days in Sunny June, Book V: The New Frontier

A tale of the Berylverse. Takes place concurrently with The Golden Age of Apocalypse.

Canterlot, California - the 35th largest city in the United States, a bustling metropolis filled with hundreds of thousands of people, all with different lives and motivations. Yet so many of these lives are intertwined, tied to one another like Gordian knots.

As events unfold in another city named Canterlot, on another world, in another reality, one could see why things are so different...and yet why things are so much the same.

Chapters (2)

Over a thousand years ago, the griffons built a fortress in the Frozen North. Nopony alive today knows why except, perhaps, Princess Celestia - and she's ordered the abandoned structure to be reopened and brought back on duty by the brave ponies of the Royal Guard.

Because this is such an important assignment, the Guard has sent the only ponies that are up to the task - ponies whose service records are so spotty they're unwelcome in any other command.

Original one-shot/pilot written for the Quill & Blade Super Summer Jam

Left marked incomplete because I'll probably add more short, episodic chapters over time.
