Spike the dragon. Years ago he was little more than a runty drake. Now, all grown up, he's an anatomical forensics expert working for the government. When he comes back to visit Ponyville and discovers Rarity is in need of help with a troublesome client, the gentle dragon-shaped pony is only too pleased to assist, in the only way he knows how.

Lightning Dust's botched attempt to make it into the Wonderbolts set her back quite a bit. Desperate to show her stuff and find the action she desires, she enlists in the Equestrian Royal Guard.

Not possessing much in the way of patriotism, Lightning ponders what could be worth risking her life over, but a mission into the heart of a dragon hiding spot could provide the answer she seeks.

The Dimensions Uniting Multiverse Bureau is an organization dedicated to keeping a watch over every single interdimensional travel happening. Their reach is wide, their funding inexplicably limitless and their technology always advanced, even in the greatest science fiction world. They are all powerful.

So of course they'll take a team comprised out of a viking with the adaptability of a dodo, a ninja with the inclination to accuse everybody of having killed his sensei, a cyborg with a violent dislike for the explanation "It's magic", and a cynical, alcoholic field agent that values avoiding paperwork over preserving sentient life, and send this collection of lunatics to Equestria, just to check on something.

Rainbow Dash is determined to uncover the masked mare's true identity before she's humiliated yet again, but this time around, the vigilante seems especially interested in her as well. Will Rainbow Dash be able to solve the mystery before the culprit takes the hoax too far? Or is she in danger of losing not only her mind, but her heart?
