Inspired by devastating personal losses, Apple Bloom dons a mantle from her youth to counter Equestria's rising crime after a dramatic change in government sends Canterlot into disarray. As more heroes follow her lead and arise in other cities, she must face her own past and dark new evils on the path back to harmony.

It started out as an ordinary day for Fluttershy – waking up in her house in Cloudsdale and going to work managing the weather for Ponyville alongside her best friend Cloud Kicker. However, she finds herself troubled by feelings she can't explain, feelings that something serious is wrong. When she starts having visions of a strange life with strange ponies, she's determined to find them and find out what's going on. But how can such a timid pony convince others of what she isn't sure of herself?

Rarity was certain her troubles with magical gemstones had ended, but an unexpected royal visit soon convinces her otherwise. In order to save an ailing Princess, stop an ancient menace, and avert a disaster that threatens the survival of a lost tribe of ponies, Rarity, Blueblood, and a brave group of friends will travel to strange and foreign lands, and into the fathomless depths beneath tormented seas. In her quest to uncover the secrets of the Abyssal Forge, Rarity will have to use all her charm, wit, and skill—and rely on allies old and new—as the unlikeliest of ponies once again attempts to save the world in style.

This is the story of two of these unsung heroes of the pony world, who selflessly sacrifice their time and energy for those blasted mysterious cutie marks that the ponies seem to like so much.
