One year ago, Twilight Sparkle the so-called human moved to Ponyville.

Rarity never believed that, of course. The "human" bit. After all, no human would willingly choose to live in a town of monsters, and no amount of magic or hunting orders or Plans with a capital "P" would ever change her mind on that—especially when said human was so constantly collected and calm.

But... if she wasn't human, what kind of monster could she be?

Magic isn’t real. Twilight Sparkle abandoned that fantasy in her childhood, along with nonsense like pony princesses and myths of a monster in the moon. The only thing worth believing in is that which can be proved—scientifically, of course.

But then a series of un-scientific phenomena starts happening at Canterlot High. The magic-obsessed transfer student won’t leave her alone, a vivid nightmare haunts her dreams with increasing intensity, and her benevolent mentor-slash-principal is clearly hiding something big. Everywhere she turns there’s talk and sight of magic; rumours of a thousand-year old prophecy and a monster returning to seek revenge. And worst of all? Twilight finds herself almost willing to believe it.

Almost. Good thing she’s smart enough not to, right?

Twilight and Rarity are best friends. They haven't shared phone numbers, they have never hung out together, and they have never seen each other's faces. They talk nearly every day.

In a dark, cold place bored into the core of Mount Canterhorn, a God is being born. Twilight Sparkle, the Solarian Union's most gifted mind, is overseeing its birth. When the Tower is complete, it will unite the Union and the world, overseeing infastructure, communication, automation of every kind. It is the ultimate marriage of science and magic, and the great work which will usher in a new age.

Twilight watches her creation taking shape in the void, and loses herself in its terrifying mystery. The God they are bringing into Being is not the mere machine they set out to build.

Once upon a time, there was a mare who did not believe in fairytales, and a very different mare who did not believe in herself. Their lives intertwined, weaving together a fairytale like no other, filled with chaos and love, friends and enemies, adventures and tragedies. A fairytale they felt would last forever. But it couldn't.

Be it with a bang or with a whisper, everything eventually must come to an end, whether we like it or not—their story is no different.

With nothing left to lose and everything to gain, all Rarity and Twilight can do is make sure it's an ending worth telling.

After agreeing to Twilight's proposal of having a date in an alternate universe, Rarity finds herself contemplating many things, including but not limited to: what it means to be a human, how are you supposed to walk on two legs, meeting teenage versions of yourself and your friends, and last but not least, questioning your entire relationship and the nature of soulmates.

Going on an inter-dimensional date with her marefri—sorry, girlfriend—was not supposed to lead to the existential crisis of a lifetime, but there was Rarity anyway.

Set in the same continuity as "The Swap". Absolutely not set in the same continuity as "Your Own Worst Enemy".

In a city as corrupt as it is beautiful, a private investigator searches for her missing lover, a cop on the verge of busting open Canterlot's biggest crime syndicate.

But in order to find her beloved Twilight Sparkle, Rarity will have to enlist the help of Canterlot's former chief of police and Twilight's mentor, Celestia. And as the two race against the clock to save a life, they will have to ask themselves what's worth fighting for in a city that's already lost its soul.

It is Equestrian tradition that, when a pony comes of a certain age, they are given a magic timer that counts down the days until they're destined to meet their soulmate. Rarity was very excited the day she got hers.

She just hadn't expected it would be counting up.

Short ficlet based on a prompt I got on my Tumblr blog. Original prompt was to write a drabble set in a universe where "timers are set on the wrist of every person once they are a certain age, slowly counting down until the day they meet their soulmate".

Shimmer Glass is the newest employee of the Sapphire Carousel, and she has every reason to distrust the place and the people who have taken her in. She especially has reason to be wary of the Carousel's bodyguard, Rainbow Dash, and her improper conduct around the other employees.

But the Sapphire is both more and less than meets the eye, and soon, Shimmer will discover the true nature of her employers and her coworkers, and decide if she wants to risk her heart with the irreverent guardian of the Carousel.

This is a fanfic of Monochromatic's Crimson Lips. Reading up to at least "Chapter 19: Shimmer Glass" is absolutely required for this fic to make any sense, though you should read the whole thing anyways since it's incredible.
