The original minific version of this story placed 10th in the Writeoff Association's 80th contest, "Lie Me a River." This rewritten and expanded version was my entry in Aragon's "Comedy is Serious Business" contest with the prompt "We Learned Something Stupid," and the cover image comes from Otonus on DeviantArt.
Over the course of man’s existence, there have been some questions that we haven’t been able to answer, such as what the meaning of life is and why we always lose a sock in the dryer.
However, there are some questions that one does not think to ask as they are... unusual. One of those, for example, is, “what would happen if Rainbow Dash was replaced by the longest continuously produced military aircraft in human history?”
One individual dared to ask that question. After being put through some of the most rigorous tests, these are the results he came up with.

Strange things happen within the Everfree Forest. All ponies know that. What they don't know is what lives in it. Everyone is in for a surprise when a zombie comes crawling out of the wicked forest. Call it a curse, an awoken evil, or a cruel joke. It could be many things. No one expects that it wants to talk of all things. But under all that decaying flesh, there's still a heart, though not necessarily still working.
Maybe it takes a shy pegasus and a little bit of kindness to get that heart pumping again.
Set before Twilight's Kingdom.
Eque, home of the magical beings of many species. Ponies, Griffins, Dragons, and so on. But the thirst for knowledge is unyielding, wanting to travel the among the stars...though, it all went wrong, when a mission, ignites a war without understanding.

Queen Chrysalis likes it when I boop her on the nose. It helps her relax. However, one day, Princess Twilight Sparkle bursts in, thinking that Queen Chrysalis has put a spell on me.

The Multiverse. It is a strange place in which there are worlds where things taste like purple and two plus two equals fish and if you divide that by three you get salmon... truly a weird place.
My memory is awful, but after moving around so much in the Multiverse, I had thought I had pretty much done it all.
At least, I thought I had. You see, the Multiverse is like that. It will lull you into a false sense of security, make you think you know what to expect and BAM! You’re a black kitten in a world full of ponies that are every color of the rainbow and the pet of a baby dragon...
Honestly though, this isn’t even on the top ten of the weirdest lives I’ve ever lead... I think.
