As the years drew on, Spike's childish heart grew into that of a true adult, longing for the finer things in life; the finest things. He pursues his relationship with Rarity, but all does not go as planned.

Filled with anger and sorrow, Spike and Rarity fall away from one another. In his grief, Spike pursues new interests, and their friendship is in danger of never recovering.

But perhaps the truest words in life are these: you do not know what you had until you have lost it. Jealous and alone, finding no comfort in stallions she once loved, can Rarity reclaim her one chance at true love, before it is too late?

Spike is in his late teens, but has yet to act on his feelings for Rarity. The Summer Sun Festival is right around the corner and Spike is determined to finally ask Rarity out. There will be heart break before the end, but Spike has plenty of love to give.

Spike has tried everything to attract Rarity's love, but all his attempts have remained fruitless. Disheartened by his failures, he decides to make use of a more radical method to get his beloved's attention. However, he hasn't foreseen all the ramifications that his decision entails.

With everything going on in his happy life in Ponyville, the adventures, the fun, the lessons on friendship, Spike never took time to have any appreciation with his time with it all, assuming his life would always be this happy. Then that letter came... the letter that had it spelled out right in front of him that he was never supposed to happen, that he was never supposed to even live, and that Twilight must make the difficult choice of choosing her friend, or her princesses orders. As Spike finds anger inside him build up from seemingly nowhere, he storms out of the house, into the twilight of the night, tears streaming down his cheeks.

All the while, Rarity is there to comfort Spike through his emotions, his feelings, his fears that one baby dragon should never handle on their own. She begins to realize just how important Spike is to her, not just as a friend. As the days of his happy life tick by second after second, just how dirty is Rarity willing to get just to save a dragon's numbered days?

Sparity/TwiSpike Friendship

After another failed attempt to ask Rarity out on a date, Spike finds a ruby which, supposedly, gives Dragons great power and courage. Of course, he eats it. But will his newfound courage become a blessing or a curse when things take an unexpected turn and old enemies return with more power?

Spike has long since liked Rarity, and when Twilight Sparkle decides to hold a party and she's invited, Spike must decide if he will build up enough guts to tell her how he feels. He is determined to do so, but that has happened before and he's still chickened out.

A dark night in a town that knows how to keep its secrets, but on the top floor of the Ponyville Public library lives a dragon still trying to find the answers to life's persistent questions:

Note: This was an exercise in silliness, and that's why it's so short. If there's enough interest in making this work, I may continue it.

It has been five years since he first arrived in Ponyville, and Spike has grown both physically and emotionally. Yet even though he's remained infatuated with Rarity for so long, he's bottled up his feelings, until reality hits him, and his depression forces him to make certain decisions he may later come to regret. Now he must face reality, and all that it entails, including his own reflection, whether he likes it or not.

Spike's choices, however, affect not only him, but those closest to him as well. The six ponies he holds closest to his heart will bear witness to his suffering, and they themselves shall know love at its best...

And at its worst...

Rated Teen, because, just in case. Sometimes it's better to be safe rather than sorry. No sex or gore, just in case you were wondering.
