Chapters (11)

Living in Equestria under a false name and racial identity is one thing. Finding out you're not the only one of your kind stranded here is another... especially when that someone and the element bearers are looking for you.

Being my first attempt at a first-person romantic comedy, this takes a slightly different approach to the concept of being a human stranded in Equestria.

Enjoy.

Big thanks to DVAN56 for editing. Go check out his work!

Luna was never banished, Discord is Celestia's court jester, the Elements of Harmony do not exist, and Twilight grows more pompous and more egotistical every day.

Celestia is not amused.

This story is on indefinite hiatus. I might revisit it, so it's not cancelled, but I'm not currently skilled enough as an author to do some of the things I wanted. Believe me, I've got the drafts to prove it.

Equestria was a changing society. Emerging out of its long-held isolation, the people of Equestria, and her government, were beginning to be exposed to ideals and forces that threatened to tear apart the ancient nation. Racial tension was returning to what was once a peaceful, orderly society, and the long held ideals of Equestrian equality were being undermined in the face of new wealth and technology.

But it was in the name of these ancient ideals that Equestria went to war in 1939. In the process, it was being pulled into a global whirlwind that threatened to once again bring invasion and foreign occupation to the lands of Equestria. As Equestria found new friends and enemies in the human world, so did old enemies and friends once again emerge from its own continent.

In the process, our heroes the Mane Six try to find their way in this new world, even as they are inevitably being pulled towards their destinies.

People like Button's mom. Some really, really like her. So it's no surprise a few fanart and stories are made in her favor. And now poor Button has to deal with the end result for some inexplainable reason. Hopefully he doesn't get mentally scarred for life!

Thanks to my editors Selbi and Trials, along with my pre-reader Skeeter The Lurker for all their help!

Following the harrowing experiences of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy, Sergeant Matthew Baker prepares to lead his squad of new and old faces in the infamous Operation Market-Garden. However, they get blown a little off course along the way. Now stuck in Equestria, Baker must do his best to help the ponies, confront his past, and lead his men back home. But, one man can only do so much.

Notes: Prior knowledge of the game is not required, but would be useful.
Rated Teen for harsh language and some gore.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic created by Lauren Faust and owned by Hasbro.
Brothers in Arms developed by Gearbox Software and published by Ubisoft.

Chapters (16)

A newscast on the late 'Conversion Center' phenomenon that happened some six months ago and what would most likely really happen should it occur. Seriously, just because you don't like being human doesn't mean the majority of the world sees it the same way. Set in more of a near-present rather than near-future.

I gave another author ideas! Starman Ghost's TCB: Not Alone is pretty good, go read it. And that has a sequel, Dalek IX's TCB: Conquer the Stars! I feel giddy.

My unicorn parents called me a worthless mud pony. They pushed me every day to overcome my lowly status. When I woke up one morning with my cutie mark, I thought they would love me. I couldn’t have been farther from the truth.

It was not destiny or enjoyment that led me to discover the cello and composing. My parents made that decision, deciding before I was born I would continue their family legacy of famous musicians.

They did not realize what that decision would cost them.

Chapters (3)

"OH! That would be the Elements of Harmony! They're the neatest thing! We each get a jewel necklace--Twilight gets a sparkly tiara--and we used them to defeat Discord and Nightmare Moon with rainbows that go pewpewpew-!"

A clawed glove wrapped over Pinkie Pie's lips, silencing her.

"What does the pink one speak of, pony?" He demanded of Twilight, who sputtered at his question. "Do these 'Elements' hold the power to resurrect humanity?"

"I'm... not sure." She returned, halfheartedly. "They're pretty powerful..."

"Where are they?"

"In Canterlot, the city on the mountains, but-"

He dropped Pinkie and stomped off, leaving her to flop around her stretched-out lips. Twilight saw that he was going out the door and in the direction of the city she had mentioned.

"W-wait! Stop!" She galloped after him.

Chapters (2)

Sometimes, we put on a mask to hide our true feelings. Sometimes, we end up wearing them for far too long and we forget who we are underneath, and we lose ourselves to the madness.

My name is Pink, and I am alone.

I found my mask at an early age, and I’ve been wearing it ever since. I’ve hidden myself away, behind this wall I’ve made myself.

My entire life has been nothing but heartache and misfortune. I found solace in the bottom of a bottle, in sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll, anything to fill in the empty spaces and block out the pain.

I used to think none of it was my fault, but now I’m not so sure. I’ve caught a glimpse through the cracks in the bricks that make up this wall, and I’m afraid.

I’m afraid that I was wrong.

I’m afraid to take off this mask and face the reproaching eyes of the world.

All in all, it’s just another brick in the wall.

All in all, you’re all just another brick in my wall.

~All chapters but the very last chapter of this story are finished. I made the decision to abandon this story with a heavy heart, but I have to move on from it. I have, however, posted everything I did write for the final chapter, as well as detailed notes to fill in the blanks. I consider this story completed now. Read this blog post for more info.

~Inspired and adapted from Pink Floyd's 1979 album, 'The Wall.'
