This is a story that I will work on when I'm not focused on HoH:UME and Tales From The Omniverse, so new chapters probably won't come as often.

Lieutenant Logan Briggs was born into war, something he has known since his planets destruction at the hands of the Covenant.

Never did he consider peace an option.

After a mechanical failure during a Covenant assault ends in catastrophe, the lone human Marine awakens on a world untouched by conflict—a quiet land of strange creatures, old magic, and skies that have never seen the fires of genocide.

Here, the war is over.

For the first time in his life, Briggs has the chance to rest, heal...

...and start over.

But peace doesn’t last forever.

Beneath the soil, something stirs. Ancient. Forgotten. Watching.

Sealed beneath unfinished ruins and buried sins. It does not seek conquest...

It seeks erasure.
It seeks annihilation.

And when it rises, the world will burn.

Now, Briggs must choose between holding on to the peace he’s earned…
or becoming the soldier this world never knew it needed.

Young man finds himself lost in badlands as a changeling, send to this world by unknown forces, he has to fend for himself in a world much darker than his favorite show has ever been. But why try to survive when you can thrive?

People say "be the change you want to see" and I decided to do so and write a fanfic I myself was looking for this entire time. I have experience writing DnD campaigns and quests, so, why not try to write a full-fledged story?

Fair warning, I'm from Russia and may have some problems with English grammar, feel free to correct any mistakes you find and criticize my story in the comments.

This story contains: HiE and human-to-changeling (obviously), occasional violence, Early-Medieval setting, RGRE themes, sexism (towards males), xenophobia, villain-protagonist, wholesome villain romance ("we can be horrible together" type), some angst, obscure references to CIS/Soviet/Russian media and literature.

PS: Yes, first four chapters are a mess, but I plan to rewrite those once my session is done.

In the year 2031, a chilling discovery rattled the foundations of humanity. A rogue asteroid, the size of Ceres, was detected at the edge of the solar system, hurtling towards Earth on a collision course. The news sent shockwaves through the global community, a stark reminder of humanity's vulnerability in the vast expanse of the cosmos.

Scientists raced against time to devise a solution. Project Gaia

Their efforts led them to a groundbreaking discovery: interdimensional portal technology. The theory was audacious: to evacuate Earth's population to a new world, a refuge untouched by the impending catastrophe.

The plan was met with both hope and trepidation. The portal, if successful, could be humanity's salvation. But the destination was unknown, a gamble that could either lead to a new beginning or a perilous end.

I had kind of fallen off of the My Little Pony train after the series had come to a close, and the next generation had moved it. It only made sense, right? Many people would simply start to move on once new material started to come out, leaving behind only a cult following to continue privately.

However, that past obsession came back to slap me in the face with its royally ordained hoof.

I was now Princess Argent, an evil variant of Princess Luna that only appeared in... I'm not even sure if she made an appearance in the comics. My memory of the series has faded too much to be of any actual use...

Which makes it all the worse that I'm face to face with a pre-fall Luna...

Well, might as well see if I can help a sister out, right?

My attempt to make a return to the MLP fandom... and get Princess Argent a character tag.

No one was prepared for the second Chernobyl disaster.

The first one was already bad enough, scaring and poisoning the land with no possibility of future habitation. The second one was infinitely worse. In an instant, the ancient Ukrainian forests and decaying Soviet apartment blocks were made into something wholly other. Local wildlife was twisted and mutated beyond recognition, none residing within the Exclusion Zone at the time survived. A new unseen force moved throughout the landscape, twisting reality on a whim. And still, there are those either brave, stupid, or desperate enough to travel into this forsaken place. Their ideologies vary greatly, some seek to understand the Zone. Others seek to destroy it in order to protect the outside world. And others seek simply to profit off of it.

Regardless of their goals, they all go by the same broad term.

Stalkers.

One such Stalker, a man by the name of Nikolai, suddenly finds himself thrown into an entirely different kind of Zone. One that you cannot escape from, and with a completely different set of hazards than the one he is used to.

The Equestrian Wasteland.

Zephyr EarthWing begins his travels in search of a place that will accept his presence, with his first stop from Manehatten being Ponyville, and to escape what damage his secret has caused. Convinced that friendship is nothing more than a word, he subconsciously pushes all who attempt to befriend him away. But will he finally realize the true value of friendship? or will he ultimately break the heart of the pony who has a connection to his past?
