This story is a sequel to The Story of Nyx: A Snowflake in The Wind

Several months after Nyx frees Snowdrop from the pony version of Purgatory, life in the small town of Ponyville seems to be finally calming down. The young couple's relationship is kept under wraps well enough to not attract much attention and it seems like it's only going up from here. But when the secret of how long Snowdrop has actually been dead is revealed, the two's relationship is strained and torn. Combined with the daily visits of Princess Luna, trying to investigate the sudden high levels of divine magic in area, can Nyx and Snowdrop make their relationship work? Or is it doomed to be a permanent divide?

After Twilight brings a Saddle Arabian artifact to the Ponyville library, Nyx becomes too curious for her own good. After jumping in she finds herself in the pony version of Purgatory. There she meets the tortured soul of Snowdrop. Nyx tries to comfort Snowdrop and become her friend after over 1000 years of isolation. But with all the challenges ahead will their relationship become more?

Alone and afraid, Sunset Shimmer has been living off of the streets in Canterlot ever since she ran away from home. She is barely holding on as it is and winter is coming soon, and Sunset doesn't know how she's going to survive this one. On a particularly cold night, she's out searching for something to eat when she bumps into the last pony she expects to see walking through the slums: Princess Celestia.
