Once a shy and introverted pony, now the resigned ruler of an entire nation, Twilight has been through it all. From boring talks with politicians, crazy battles against powerful foes, helping ponies in need, among many other legendary and not so legendary feats. After all that, she has assigned someone new for the position, and resigned from her throne, deciding to lay low and enjoy the rest of her years. But death is the only certain thing in life, and now, she has outlived her finite years.

Laying on the beach one sunset, the grim reaper gives her a visit. They end up having a small chat.

The worst things happen on cold days. In the wake of Maretime Bay's deep freeze, Misty walks home alone.

Written for Bean's Writing Group using the prompt "I'm cold" and the bonus "include at least one very vivid description." Set just before Winter Wishday.

This was an entry for a duo contest in Quills and Sofas I wrote with Holtinater like a year or two ago and just never got around to publishing it. So here you go!

In a quiet corner of a nondescript pocket dimension, somewhere adjacent (and slightly to the left) of an unfathomable writhing tempest of antimatter, between an Ikea and the caged spirit of Asmodeus, exists a draconequus. He has thoughts he needs to put down onto paper, some strongly worded thoughts for an irksome purple princess.

For so long, Chrysalis, Tirek, and Cozy Glow stood paralyzed in their stone cacoon; unable to move. To speak. To do anything. But that didn't mean they couldn't see or hear everything around them. For age after age.

But now they've been released from their confinement and are free to bask in a changed world. Unfortunately, the trauma of their ordeal doesn't just fade away.

Twilight never cared much for romance, but after falling for Rainbow Dash, she's ready to make her move. But what happens if those feelings are unrequited? Should she hold onto hope? Is it even possible to let go and move on?

I've read a bunch of shipfics that are all happy resolutions after the confession so I wanted to try an alternative. So here is a slightly darker TwiDash fic because I am a terrible person who must make ponies suffer. Oh God Why?!

Nothing ever changes within the forest. Public joy is shameful, pleasure fleeting, and you're not allowed to talk about what you're missing. They tell you what not to say, because that's the best way to make sure you think about it all the time. The younger generation is taught to be just as miserable as the older, allowing the perpetual miasma of depression to occupy fresh hosts. And so the facade which calls itself 'life' goes on across the centuries. Without change and, for the pain of loss, without end.

There's nothing new in the forest. There never will be.

In the aftermath of Nightmare Moon's banishment, Celestia was left with grief. She lost Luna to the Nightmare's corruption, the Castle of the Two Sisters lay in ruin, and the Everfree was scarred by the battle. Despite everything, ponies call on her to lower the moon. So, the Princess is left with the Moon and her grief.
