When Rarity goes into heat, she figures that it's the perfect time to confess her feelings for Twilight. Things don't always go as planned.

It's come to Rarity's attention that Twilight doesn't know the finer points of royal etiquette yet, so she gives her a few lessons on how to dance like a true princess would.

It's not like she has any ulterior motive for asking Twilight to dance under a romantic, starlit sky... right?

As part of her search for somepony to assist her with legal matters, Twilight spends most of her time interviewing potential candidates. When this results in her neglecting her friends, Rarity decides to take matters into her own hooves.

By which she means getting a job interview with Twilight and acting as unprofessionally as possible.

After a full day in Canterlot, Twilight and Rarity decide to explore the palace garden's legendary hedge maze. Their attempts to unravel the mysteries of the labyrinth yield some interesting and unexpected results.

[Complete!] When Rarity finds out how little Twilight gets out of the Library, things get out of hand as she decides to take it upon herself to teach Twilight the ropes of dating. As Rarity drags her around, Twilight begins to have a good idea of who she wants to ask out.

Upon eavesdropping on a conversation between Rarity and Twilight Sparkle, Spike discovers what his "true love" really thinks of him, and after reminiscing on his thoughts about it, he slowly begins to drift away from his friends. With sorrow and despair in his heart, Spike runs away from home, and runs into an old enemy that tries to help him out.

However, after realizing what she has done, Rarity begins to realize and discover that she has feelings for Spike after all, but can she save him before it's too late?

A fire breaks out in Sweet Apple Acres, mysteriously created out of nowhere. Private and Twilight investigate only to find out that two mysterious dragons have taken roost near Ponyville. They claim to be Spike's long lost parents. As Private and Twilight investigate the real cause of the fire they'll have to face the fact that Spike may want to leave them. Spike is torn, while he grew to love Ponyville, his parents showed him equal love. As the town grows suspicious of Spike he'll have to make a choice. Either leave with parents of his own kind, or stay with the ones who raised him.

With everything going on in his happy life in Ponyville, the adventures, the fun, the lessons on friendship, Spike never took time to have any appreciation with his time with it all, assuming his life would always be this happy. Then that letter came... the letter that had it spelled out right in front of him that he was never supposed to happen, that he was never supposed to even live, and that Twilight must make the difficult choice of choosing her friend, or her princesses orders. As Spike finds anger inside him build up from seemingly nowhere, he storms out of the house, into the twilight of the night, tears streaming down his cheeks.

All the while, Rarity is there to comfort Spike through his emotions, his feelings, his fears that one baby dragon should never handle on their own. She begins to realize just how important Spike is to her, not just as a friend. As the days of his happy life tick by second after second, just how dirty is Rarity willing to get just to save a dragon's numbered days?
