This story is a sequel to Princess Celestia The Changeling Queen: Stories Behind the Mask

At the Royal Wedding, Chrysalis and the Changelings were revealed to all of Equestria.

But another mask was torn away that day. A mask born for a thousand years. A mask created on one promise. A mask, that has become synonymous, fused, to its bearer.

A mask that when ripped off, causes Twilight, her friends and Luna to question everything they ever knew about the one pony, one very important pony.

At the Royal Wedding, the meaning of the phrase 'Princess Celestia' changes forever.

NOTE: Chrysalis is NOT Celestia!!! That'd be impossible to pull off.

This story is a direct sequel to Princess Celestia: The Changeling Queen. Reading that first is necessary to understand any part of this story.

Alternia, sister to Chrysalis, ruled Equestria for a thousand years, disguised as Princess Celestia, while the alicorn slumbered in a healing sleep. Now revealed, Alternia prepares to become Equestria’s first changeling princess, and prove herself to the ponies she loves at the side of her co-rulers Luna and the newly-returned Celestia.

But even as the crown descends onto Alternia’s head, something is stirring in the depths of the Eastern Sea, something that will turn the surface world onto its head. Some power that could destroy Alternia, and all that she loves, before she can even regain the approval of her own ponies.

Will Alternia restore the trust her ponies once placed with her? Will she found a hive? Will she find love?

All that is certain is that Equestria, and the world, will never be the same again.

Shadow Spell was her original name.

Shelwyn Furlan was her name for fourteen years after she was transported to the human world.

Now Shadow Flight returns to Equestria, attempts (unsuccessfully) to fit in for the hundredth time, and struggles to learn all the lessons friendship has to offer. Unfortunately, things never go quite smooth for her . . .

. . . especially not after her uncle, King Sombra, starts invading her dreams, aiming for one purpose - to use her to take over the Crystal Empire once more.

Jacob doesn't consider himself a special individual. Average, maybe. Intellectual? far from such. He has show interest in history in the past, though. So when he winds up in Equestria through an ancient ruin that still contained a fifty thousand year old magical charge, he becomes very interested in history. He decides to look more into Equestria's past, the time before the ponies arrived there.

Luckily, he won't be doing it alone. The Princess of the Night has shown a recent interest in history as well, and together the two explore ancient relics from Equestria's past.

When they find something during the exploration of an ancient buried chamber though, everything changes for both of them.

David Carrian can't help but be attached to his amazing, very expensive computer. As such, when a virus sneaks onto his system without his knowing, he puts all of his focus and knowledge into removing the threat that is screwing with his memory and CPU.

But he hears something coming from his headphones. A quiet, almost unnoticeable voice cries out from behind the computer screen. On one hand, knowing that the virus is playing such sickening sound effects drives him harder to fix the problem. On the other however, he stops to think after he finally makes out the words said to him...

This tale follows heavily on the Slice-of-Life and drama side of things, but sways towards adventure halfway through the story. As of Chapter 13 (treehouse.exe V1.31), we have not reached that point yet.

Episodes beyond season three episode two are ignored.

Octavia, going on a rather extended tour with her orchestra, has charged Vinyl Scratch with the care of a human that she's been caring for: Anonymous. At his size, the ponies and their world is amazonian to him. Not only is the human smaller than Vinyl, but she must care for him until Octavia returns. Normally, something that wouldn't be a problem for a unicorn, but an accident from years past adds a strange twist to her endeavors.

A young human called Alex is transported to Equestria without knowing how or why. After being discovered by Twilight Sparkle and her assistant Spike in the Everfree Forest, Alex soon learns that he is a very special case.
He now finds himself running for his life as everypony is out to get him.

Will Alex escape this ponified nightmare, or will he find himself as a prized catch?

This story was inspired by 'We will Catch You if we Can' by proto-alpha.

This is the first book of The Humanity Within Trilogy. Its sequel is What I've Done.
