Twilight is Equestria's rock. As the newest and most popular princess, everyone's looking to her for everything from advice to fashion trends. Sometimes, she still has nightmares from her and her friends' various adventures, but she has to stay strong. For Equestria.

Sometimes, the heroes need saving, too.

A prank gone wrong leaves the Hearth's Warming Eve preparations in ruins. The students are forced to clean up the mess while Twilight Sparkle, with the help of Rainbow Dash and Spike, tries to figure out which of her students is behind it, but when bad feelings boil over into an argument, things take a turn for the worst when the Gallus reveals himself to be the culprit and does something that will leave everyone picking up the pieces of more than just the decorations.

CW: This story deals with suicide and depression.

Twilight Sparkle thinks she will never die.

She wasn't prepared when her friends died, when she could only die when her domain - friendship - faded away. Friendship never faded. She was stuck being immortal for all of time. Even dragons - even Spike - were not fully immortal like she was, just long-lived. Even Celestia and Luna went, when the sun exploded and obliterated the moon. Even Discord went, when Faust, the Creator, fulfilled her promise and remade the world into perfection. Yet she was stuck as an alicorn, watching universes rise and fall.

Twilight Sparkle is wrong.

When Fluttershy was young, some of the only kindness she received was from the ground. She wondered if she belonged there.

And if it would be nicer to be a tree.

When Applejack left home to go back to college after winter break, Winona seemed as happy and healthy as ever. Tragically, just weeks later, Applejack learns her family's beloved dog had passed away in her sleep, years earlier than anyone would have expected. Shocked and grief-stricken, she reaches out to one of the only friends she knows who's lost a personal pet before—Twilight Sparkle, many miles away at her own school. Will video chat be enough for them to provide each other with the comfort they need?

All death is past-tense and there are no violent descriptions. Applejack and Twilight are the only characters who appear; all others tagged are discussed only (though in significant detail).

Sunny…she’s always so optimistic that she can change things here in Maretime Bay, make everypony get along, and prove a point to our system, which is inherently Earth Pony-centric.

I don’t know what the other races are like. I’ve never seen them. But from what I heard about them…I feel Sunny is going to get herself either killed or something much worse should she keep this up. She’s my only real friend here in this town and I’m all she’s got. I don’t think she truly understands how dangerous this world really is.

This is the story of me trying to live up to the mantle of a responsible sheriff, protecting the town, and my friend, even if it means protecting her from herself….

A tough week for the Princess of Friendship has ended with an extended stay in Canterlot to repair broken friendships while also successfully getting Moondancer to embrace it again.

But as Twilight and Spike head home to settle in for a long night's rest, a sudden realization hits Twilight like a sack of hardcover books, leaving her utterly distraught and Spike as the only one capable of consoling her.

If he can, that is...

Twilight Sparkle is the master of her own mind. She is the Princess of Friendship. She is the fourth piece of the Alicorn Tetrarchy. She has incredible power, and she has always asserted it in a necessary and compassionate way. She has a charmed life—a wonderful set of friends, a beautiful castle in a lovely little town, and is constantly busy with her life, stretching her wings upward and outward to new horizons as often as possible.

There can be nothing wrong with her.

Having been assigned a project about researching lost civilizations, and learning how friendship could have helped them survive, the Student Six try to find something unique. They find in the form of a sphere hologram projection, which tells about a different world that is plagued by ghouls, deathclaws, and super mutants. A world where various factions fight for survival, and to rebuild the human race in their image. A world that is both harsh and dangerous where friendship and decent kindness are a rarity.
