Celestia is dying. Or at least it seems so. Afflicted with a curse that is destroying her very nature, she sets a plan in action.
The Bearers of the Elements of Harmony will take the throne in her wake... Not that they know that yet...

(Takes place as an Alternate Season 3)

Celestia writes a letter to her imprisoned sister, remembering their time together.

It's short, but I really don't think anything else is necessary.

Note: This was written before season 2, so some of the details might have been de-canoned in the meantime.

Night after night, she sat at her desk, inscribing her tears and feelings into letters that would never reach the one for whom they were created. The hearth fire would take her secrets once more tonight, turning them to the wind to be carried off in a hazy smoke that tinted the air with its sorrowful scent.

Okay, I know this is a weird request, but because of weird coding, I'd like to request that you all read this in the "Light" setting for page color. It's up to you of course, but the coding is going to look pretty dang weird to you if you don't.

So, this was a writing challenge done in the hopes of getting my writer's block kicked to the curb. Character tags are off to avoid spoilers.... They will be added tomorrow since by then, well, the comments will no doubt have turned it into a late-arrival spoiler anyway.
(The challenge, BTW was "So, do Dilemma again, but this time, with FEEEEEEELSSS." So, if you have an issue with "feels" go take it up with my sister.)

The crime rate in Canterlot was hitting an all time high, which was perfect for a young thief like Chase.

Unfortunately his fellow thieves started getting caught. And everypony knows what happens when you get caught.

You're taken to Celestia and interrogated in ways so horrible, so demeaning that the one caught is never the same again.

Chase knows this and refuses to let it happen to him.

For even if he is caught, he knows in his heart that he will never give up his life of crime. And nopony, not even Celestia herself can change that...

Right?

This story is just a bit of fun that popped up in my mind. Mostly because I wanna write Celestia in a good way for once XD

No possessiveness, no darkness, just a gentle, motherly Celestia.

I'm not sure about the tags, so if I'm missing something then tell me XD

A Cutie Mark is meant to represent the personality and special talent of each pony that has one. Cheerilee's flowers symbolize her desire to help her students bloom, and the smiles represent the cheer that she hopes to bring to their lives.

At least...that's what she tells everypony who asks.

It is three years later and the Mane 6 have moved on with their lives, all except Fluttershy, who cannot get the draconequus out of her mind. The others are happy in their new and comfortable lives, until their enemy returns and will only relieve Equestria of his havoc in exchange for a bride.

This has been adapted into an audio series.
