Princess Twilight Sparkle's coronation was a disaster. However, her ascension to the throne led to one of the most prosperous eras Equestria has ever seen. Thanks to that, she and her friends can live in peace and harmony in the land that they love, regardless of the distance between them.

But Twilight wasn't the only one who had to make big changes when she moved to Canterlot. Her assistant and confidant, Spike, is ever by her side. And unlike Twilight, he still has some unfinished business in Ponyville. Thus, a promise was made between himself and the Element of Generosity, Rarity. Now, five years later, it's time for Spike to fulfill that promise.

If only he was good enough to do so.

Spike has a lot on his mind. As a senior at Ponyville High, he's overloaded with classes, buried in stress... and he's been harboring a crush on a certain close friend for longer than he'd care to admit.

Scootaloo has a lot on her mind. As a junior at Ponyville High, she's pouring her focus into the upcoming softball season, dealing with some irritating gossip about her personal life... and can't help but notice a certain dragon constantly looking her way.

Perhaps it's finally time for one of them to do something about all this...

Discord is wanting to settle down with Fluttershy and stay with her full time, but as the god of Chaos he'll cease to be if he acts to normal and it becomes clear that no normal creature can stand chaos 24/7 and he seeks a replacement, he ends up landing on Spike for the job.
Spike is missing all the time he and Twilight use to spend together, even if it was mostly work, and ends up using his powers so he can earn her respect as an equal instead of being seen as a lowly assistant.
While planning his first move he ends up enlisting the Cutie Mark Crusaders aid so none of the other mane 6 feel left out of the fun.

Rarity, highly successful owner of her own fashion line, stumbles upon some problems designing the newest sets of evening garments for the next Grand Galloping Gala. Will her husband Spike be able to help her overcome her tribulations?

This story has a continuation which is also most definitely NSFW and rated mature - it's mostly just Rarity and Spike joyfully consummating their marriage.

Spike always thought the hardest part was getting Rarity to say yes. Well it turns out that that was just the beginning. With dates to schedule, invitations to send out, venue reservations to make, dress preparations to complete, and new in-laws to deal with on top of his usual responsibilities, the princess’s number one advisor would’ve had enough on his plate without the fear of the legendary “Bridezilla” rearing it’s ugly head and leaving everything in ruins.

The only way to keep the mighty ender of marriages at bay is to make sure Rarity’s stress levels stays low, and if that means Spike will need to plan the whole thing by himself, then so be it.

This day is going to be perfect. No matter what.

You know the story of Twilight Sparkle. Celestia's unicorn apprentice gets sent to Ponyville, bumps into five friends, recovers the Elements of Harmony, releases the princess's younger sister from a dark enchantment, learns to embody the magic of friendship.

Though, what would it look like if the story wasn't about the original Elements, but their siblings? How would the story of Spike T. Dragon look if he was in his sister's place? If Spike was sent to Ponyville, met some friends, recovered the elements, and saved the day?

Sparkles to Flames is a re-exploration of MLP:FiM with the Mane 6, as well as a couple others, replaced with their siblings or characters close enough to be considered family. It's also a way to explore or expand on some aspects of the show that I personally felt somewhat unsatisfied with, such as Spike's seemingly unique fire. It's also an excuse for me to rewatch the show as a whole. Criticism and corrections are welcome.

Through the simple act of betraying with somepony he knows and loves. Spike will be shown just how far his music can take him. From a simple dream as a little dragon, he gave up his dream and his talent to help the only pony who betrayed him after so many years of being on her side. Running away from Ponyville with his violin, Spike trips to Canterlot... Healing old wounds, finding new friends or something more, and possibly even rekindling the old fire of his dreams...

This time he will focus not on the others, but to follow his dreams...
