My name is Eight.

Yes, like the number. No, I didn't choose it. I can't even say why my name is Eight. Every time I've asked my dad, he just says he'll tell me when I'm 'eighteen' and starts laughing. So I don't ask anymore.

Usually, I just do my own thing. I have surface friends, try to get through high school, the works. I wouldn't say I have a boring life, just nothing particularly exciting happens.

At least, until both of the only girls I regularly talk to ended up confessing to me when I thought they couldn't possibly be interested. Instead of choosing one or the other, I decided to propose the idea of dating both of them at the same time.

I am way in over my head.

With so many different realities, any kind of combinations are possible. Such as with the cellist Octavia Melody, and the former siren Sonata Dusk. Still, with such a pairing, it would of taken just the right chance of events to bring them together. However, as uncommon as it was, it didn’t make their romance any less special.

Sunset's off on a world tour, she's made it big. She's at the top of her game with several charting albums and rising higher by the day. But she never forgets the one who kept supporting her at her lowest moments. But a lonely motel room does not pleasure make.

Twilight's... well, Twilight. She prefers armchair adventures and romance novels -even if she has a stunningly great girlfriend- and things like that. Qualified introvert. Still, that doesn't stop her from getting lonely on those long nights, and an empty bed and a girlfriend on live TV... well, yeah.

Thankfully Facetime exists, eh?

This story is a sequel to Ponyville Sunlight

After agreeing to be her date, Princess Twilight Sparkle crosses the portal to accompany Sunset Shimmer to the prom. They're not going alone of course; Sunset's human friends are coming, too. With good friends, beautiful dresses, fancy dinners, and formal dancing, Twilight thinks she's really going to enjoy the prom. Of course, what Twilight and Sunset are looking forward to most is spending more time with each other. The prom will certainly be a night to remember.

NOTE: Rated T for implications. Nothing explicit, here. It's my usual self with going just a bit farther but nothing explicit.

Worthless, weak, ugly—as far as Twilight is concerned, that's all she'll ever be. Even three months into their relationship, Twilight still refuses to believe that an absolute goddess like Sunset could ever love a loser like her. And it doesn't help that Twilight spends every night being tormented by nightmares of Midnight Sparkle, the one being who hates Twilight more than she hates herself.

Twilight can only remember a single moment in her life when she felt strong: the five minutes that she spent as Midnight Sparkle. The five minutes she spent with magic.

Now, tortured by fear, anxiety, and never-ending nightmares, Twilight knows the only way to win Sunset's love is to make herself stronger—even if that means resurrecting the demon inside of her.
